 Genre Profile Task 1 Hidden Masculinity narrative about New York City night clubs is an important socio-cultural narrative that depicts cultural transformation. Using a personal memoir, Andrew Warren provides a vivid captivity narrative that show how the night clubs in New York have become dominated by male patriarchy over several years. Notably, I note that while men are the minority and the entrepreneurs in these night clubs, they employ female employees for dancing and entertainment purpose. All of these female roles in night clubs help to smooth male ego and masculinity pride. In several occasions, a man would be seen entering some of these prestigious night clubs with a swarm of women. The problem is certainly generational, in the wake of modern times there is increased personal freedom. For many, it would be seen as a social problem that should be addressed through expansion of the economy to allow more women take up better jobs than becoming men's prey at night clubs. I real life, the problem is multifaceted; it would not be addressed by rules and policies but through recognition of the need for culture change. The setting that a lucrative nightclub seeks to establish encourages prosperous males to flaunt their wealth, which provides them the opportunity to accentuate their heterosexual masculinity Task 2 The audience for this thrilling captivity narrative is youth and moreover, the female youths. Through this narrative, it is overt that the target is women. While the choice to join night clubs spree is personal, many female night club goers have not woken up to the reality of how men have dominated these clubs. Demographically, the audience involves those above the age of 18 years with legal entrance age to night clubs. Essentially, nightclubs act as conventions that attract a particular clientele and cater to the preferences of the elite audience. Nightclubs, as a culture industry, boast an ideal through stipulating a social environment that fortifies hegemony and provides benefits for businessmen through informal social interaction, which is then reproduced in the incentives of promoters. Using a personal narrative that reflects how the nightclub business has since 1970s transformed into a booming cultural challenge. The younger crowd values entertainment; their moral values seem to be increasingly eroded. Today, many young night club goers are becoming increasingly alcoholic and engaging in romantic affairs while under influence of alcohol. While the 1970s night clubs were modest in societal values, the moral stature of these youths is slowly been replaced by irresponsible partying and alcohol spree. Task 3 My chosen medium to this narrative is captivity narrative style; with this type of narrative, I use the protagonist in the story to paint an image of the night clubs. In this narrative, Warren depicts how New York nightclubs have become a hub where young female goers are misused by those men in the club. Notably, he noted in one of the clubs that  men to women ratio was 2:5, despite women being many; he observed that men took advantage of them for personal exploits. It is a reality that many young women are lost in night club romance. The values are been eroded, and the modern society is now wading in dirty mark of cultural changes in night clubs. Unlike fictional narrative, this captivity helps achieve three primary elements. The personal nature of the story helps captures personal feeling, establishes a close connection of the audience to reality, and lastly achieves a high level of effectiveness. Using narrator's observation, the audience is captivated and builds a strong tie with the audience; traditional narratives would create distance between the narrative and audience. Such a narrative comes along with other diverse advantages. It is quite easier to come up with an integration of thematic contents, setting up the diverse characters and enhancing the flow of the storyline. Task 4 However, the captivity narratives have three main limitations. Firstly, this form of narrative significantly relies on personal beliefs, values and thoughts. While there in increasing rot in the night clubs, the narrator's perception could occlude the reality. Relying entirely on personal perspective limits the audience from viewing the night club partying from different angles. Secondly, this narrative is prone to exaggerations, the description of dancing and the narrator can explode drinking spree for purposes of achieving desired effects. Thirdly, these narratives reflect socio-cultural transformation and the author position is biased and prejudiced by personal values, and this may not necessarily reflect societal moral truth. Task 5 While personal narrative is a good medium of passing guiding beliefs, norms and moral credibility, these elements were well captured in various ways. Ethos represents moral sentiments in a narrative, in this narrative; the first person narration coupled with personal reflection of several events allows the audience captures the immorality of the nightclubs. Evidently, at Pink Elephant nightclub, the narrative at was unfair captures a doorman closes the door rope leaving the third girl out of her friend. By taking an observation stand on such act, I make the audience perceive my moral stand. Notably, I outwardly stated that the act was unfair. I dispute the night spree drinking to morning hours and depicting the increased young people entry to night clubs as a display of how society has turned upside down, the moral values no longer exist. Young female exchanging contacts with men who are strangers and inviting them for nightclub outs is brought out in the narrative. Personal reservations of such cats are overt and thus the audience would see me from higher moral ground reporting a rotten culture of nightclubs. Question 6 The voice of outside sources to this captivity genre is sound across the narrative. Using multiple people's points of view is an integral voice of outside sources. While the narrative reflects purely Andrew Warren personal memoir, there is an incorporation of other works on gender and masculinity domination in New York nightclubs. Evidently, the narrative reflects a number of literature contributions from Grazian and complimentary third party point of views. In the third party perspective, Grazian admits that the nightclubs were once a fortifier of cities where people expanded their interpersonal relationships. As one of the external sources borrowed from the literature search, its inclusion helps inject varied stand on increasing immorality in city nightclubs. Task 7 In such personal experience narrative, reaching audience is easy. Through vivid description of persons, places and events, the audience would be awakening to the reality of the story. Because this narrative depends on the choice of words and intellectual power of the narrator, reaching the audience involves providing a non-biased account of personal experience with night club environment. Secondly, maximizing every opportunity of an event that occurred to give a moral implication and allow the audience encounters you in a critical analysis of thematic narrative rather than taking a humorous fiction. Task 8 Among all genres, captivity narrative offers the most reliable way to reach an audience because of two important features. Firstly, the protagonist describes his personal experience in a convincing manner rather than a fictional story session often less captivating because they are detached from reality. Secondly, his form of genre helps to inject realism and allows audience reflection about nightclubs, male domination, and role of females in majority night clubs in cities. It confers advantage of building personal view on the issue and allows recognition of the issue as a challenge in the moral world.
