American Literature Question (a) The thesis of Wink van wrinkle is about the history of Europe on the natural scenery and their social cultural way of life. The writer believes that Europe is richer in history as compared to other parts of the world. In his own submission, he says that it is upon the indigenous to transform their country into better place to live in. In my words, the author argues that home is always the best. Therefore, it is imperative to make it better and be contented with it.

Question (b)Gilman presents that a revolutionary change is something possible. She argues that the information that is documented is never lost and can be used by generations that come after to bring the dreams of the writers to life. It was during her illness that her doctor advised her not to engage in any activity that may make her mind exhausted. These activities included things like writing, reading, and even thinking. This was perceived as a ‘’arrest cure’’ prescription, which barred her from all the activities she could undertake.

Therefore, in her own view, she thought it wise to engage in physical exercise as it the common practice with every creature in order to develop; hence, she arouses interest in the topic.Question (c) The writer’s goal is to encourage and give hope to her audience that a worse situation can always be transformed into a better one. Thematically, the primary aim of the story is to motivate people to take action.Question (d) The story primarily targets adults. The work is meant for a general readership because of the character reshaping as seen from the level of concern on the young couples.

This is achieved through comparing lifestyles in urban and rural settings: Rosicky’s previous lifestyle before meeting the doctor. The author assumes that ones an individual becomes an adult, he or she should easily differentiate between good and bad. Question (e) The story is about a former navy officer who is struggling to escape his lifestyle and desperations. According to my opinion, the author advises that we should always live our lives to the fullest, and only use successful as our role models, but not try to live like they do.

Question (f) The writer uses metaphor in the poem, for example, “yet knowing how one way leads on to way” (Frost, 2014). The author has also created some imaginative elements by referring to problems in life as ‘’roads” and giving the diversion aspect to mean that life is never straight. Additionally, he has created some suspense in line three “and be a traveler long I stood’’ (Frost, 2014). One may not know what created the stoppage if looked at it literally. The comparison of a divergent road as applied here may as well reflect the plans and dreams people have, in life, which at times do not come forth.
