Sports Law Milestone 3: Research Summary Sports Law Milestone 3: Research Summary Vermont’s American Civil Liberties Union has a website that accommodates a rich database of decrees about discrimination in sporting activity. The website also contains numerous cases of legal action taken for or against sporting organizations or individuals in the past that service case studies for researching the role of law in in the response discrimination. The website describes itself is “freedom’s watchdog” that stands up for individual liberties and personal sovereignties legally by operating in courtrooms, senates, and communities as secured by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights (ACLU, 2015).

As a result, this website is important for this research because of the experienced insight and rich knowledge it offers. The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission collaborated to create the website that represents the independent statute entity with duties under three significant laws. The laws are the 2010 Equal Opportunity Act, the Racial and Religious Tolerance Act 2001, and the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act of 2006. The website provides access to educational material pertaining to all cannons about prejudicial activities and practices within all sorts of organizations (Victorian Equal Opportunity, 2015).

The way these legal cannons determine sporting activity that respects or violates human rights is essential for this research. The website says its role is to educate visitors about the liberties and duties confined within the Charter. Reports filed by both entities yearly contain information about discrimination within recreational organizations and all associated laws and regulations. Even though these reports are not focused on various sporting organizations, they apply to individuals and organizations with human capital.
