Running Head: Information Society Information Society [Institute’s Information Society Since few years, there have been huge advancements in the field of information and technology, which has altered the way individuals act and organizations function globally. On one hand, it has resulted in various advantages, such as rapid and efficient communication, networking, effective transfer of information, and various other benefits. However, on the other hand, advancements in ICT has given birth to various issues, such as intrusion of privacy, attack on sovereignty, digital divide, etc (Skinner, 2006).

From personal experience, while privacy has become easier as one can save personal documents and things safer with the help of passwords; at the same time, ICT has made it possible for authorized, as well as unauthorized people to breach privacy that has become a critical issue (Skinner, 2006). Things are not private anymore in presence of monitoring and hidden spying software, and as citizens, we can raise our voice for our right of freedom and privacy since more of such breaches will ultimately create a wider divide in society that will be harmful for societal development on global level, as well as detrimental for the entire human race.
