This writing will pay emphasis on various myths that are associated with the thought of global warming and these myths will be countered with scientific facts. The myths of global warming include that the earth is continuously experiencing an increase in temperature and this increase cannot be countered, human beings are causing an increase in carbon dioxide emission and this emission is leading to increase in probability of global warming and increase in greenhouse gasses is taking place. Body It is commonly projected by media that there is continuous increase in global temperatures and this rise is very hard to counter.

Stating that global temperature is increasing is completely wrong, this is because according to the temperature index of HadCrut3 there was a rise in the temperature of ground level during the periods of 1964 to 1998 and during the periods of 1911 to 1941, but after the period of 2001, the surface temperature has experienced a cooling effect and thus ground temperature has decreased (Heinz 23). Those who believe that global warming is just a word used to scare the public even state that the world was experiencing a global warming crises during the period of 900 CE to 1100 CE and during this session the temperature rose to the level of 61 degree Fahrenheit and the world was able to pass through that stage quite easily (Robinson 19).

As compared to that period, the global temperature reduced to 59 degree Fahrenheit which shows that chances of global warming have declined. Recent increases in ground level temperature are said to be caused due to earth warming because it has been experiencing a cooler period for quite some time. According to Michaels, there can be difference in readings of warming and cooling from one area to another at the same time and thus similar results cannot be obtained (Michaels 46). It is believed that global warming is caused due to increase in carbon dioxide that is created by human beings.

Nasa states that one of the major reasons for increase in carbon dioxide is due to activities conducted by human beings and carbon dioxide has elevated since the 1860s when humans started the process of obtaining fuel by burning fossil fuels (NASA 2013). Other sources that Nasa provides for human produced carbon dioxide includes: cutting down of trees and forests and carbon dioxide is even a result of industrial activities. Those against the idea of global warming being a reality and a huge issue assert that it is very difficult to understand the functioning of the climate of the earth and similarly it is hard to understand why rise in carbon dioxide is occurring as there have been times when human beings produced carbon dioxide, decrease in the level of carbon dioxide have been experienced.

They even assert that it is not necessary that increase in carbon dioxide is occurring due to human activities as carbon dioxide emission even arises as a result of natural hazards such as volcanoes. Another point to contradict the believe that humans are causing increase in carbon dioxide is that several other ways of producing energy as well as fuel have been identified and this has led to a decline in carbon dioxide produced by human beings.
