Extract of sample "Online Inventory Tests"

Online inventory tests are very interesting according to what I found out in my research. They are enlightening and can give an individual motivation to improve on the areas the tests found them not to be good at. However, the results can vary from what one is or perceives to be. The bottom line is that they are educational and helpful to students, teachers and professionals. In my research, I found two websites namely; ‘learning-styles-online.com’ (http://www.learning-styles-online.com/) and ‘index of learning styles’ (https://www.engr.ncsy.edu/learningstyles/).

The websites identified me to possess different learning styles. Some were similar, but others differed slightly. My learning styles are visual, physical, social, aural, verbal, logical, and physical according to learning-styles-online.com and; sensitive, active, sequential, visual, solitary and referral according to Solomon and Felder. In terms of visuals, I pay attention to images to understand while, in verbal terms, the use of explanation is useful to me. I scored highly on visual learning skills as compared to verbal. Images help me to remember what was taught in class and are thus very effective for me.

There were similarities and differences in my study methods as portrayed by the two different websites. The similarities were that my learning styles are physical or active and I do enjoy exercising and sports for instance football and basketball. Another common aspect is that images help me study better and achieve my goals. On the other hand, the major difference is that my learning style is social (learning-styles-online.com), and solitary (Soloman & Felder). The differences might have resulted from the question structure which led to my different interpretation of the same.

My study habits do not in any way interfere with or affect my learning styles. I enjoy revising every material learned in class in a day. I focus on creating a flexible period to attend the library and research the class materials. I also make sure there is time for group work if any exists. Last but not least, I enjoy solving problems from past papers for it helps me to analyze and evaluate my progress on my courses. Furthermore, am very active in sports and games which are part of my learning style. Therefore, I balance everything so that my study habits and learning styles do not conflict but make me a better person.

Conclusively, I found out that I have to improve certain aspects like verbal, social and logical learning styles. The hints given by the two websites provided a platform for me to improve and make myself better. For instance, I should be social in terms of contributing effectively to group work and encouraging group members for it to work instead of distributing tasks and never discussing them in group forums. Additionally, I have to improve my verbal skills because visual learning requires explanations. Lastly, I should improve on critical thinking and decision-making. Therefore, I should make the logical organization of thoughts so that class concepts flow flawlessly. Read More
