Opening The writing of this memo is intended to show my peers on how a rhetoric analysis is written. Similarly, through this memo, my instructor will be able to know that I understand the topic of rhetoric analysis correctly. On the other hand, the aim of any company or organization that designs a website is to make known of their products and services to web users. It also aims in captivating and mobilize them to like the company visually. The presentation of the memo is done by our group in which everyone has been allocated the point to illustrate on the rhetoric devices. If I present alone, I shall handle the whole topic. We had initially presented as a group privately in preparation for a thorough presentation to the audience. Further to that we allocated our roles in a random manner since everyone in the group had a good grasp of the entire topic of rhetoric analysis of the website selected. The intention of the memo is to make the audience understand how rhetorical analysis is done. I intend to present my memo to my audience in a clear and understandable way. I have chosen to analyze: http://www.adidas.com/, which is an Addidas company website. Everyone will concur with me that they like Addidas brands. Because this website is simple and accessible to everybody interested in the Addidas brands, the websites provoke those interested in the company and instills in them an urge to use the company products (Adidas.com 2012. However, it achieves its purpose partially but there is still a chance to capture more users of the website. This will be achievable if the corporation alters the background of the homepage to be bright and captivating. By doing this, they will capture more youths who happens to be the main proprietors of Addidas products. Discussion Logic of the argument or presentation It is commonly referred to as Logos. The intention of this is to form a cognitive response. Example is if an individual has never visited the website, they will be able to easily understand how to use the website. In this text, the homepage of the website is only designed and is made up of several features. Additionally, the search bar that is found on the top side of the homepage, and its purpose is to search for something specific . Example is searching for the price of a certain size of a shoe. It is used when searching for a product that you are sure of is a product of Addidas Company. For those who would value to be receiving updates, news and other documented materials from Addidas, there is a link next to the search bar. This link is used to register new subscribers giving them a new account with the company website. For instance, Adidas company have career opening and only those with accounts with the company will receive the information first.Below the link there is a bunch of bars that requires users to indicate their gender, that is male, female or kids. This aims at keeping records of those who use the companys website.Next to the table is a sale and customize tab this contains information on the prices and incase there are discounts offered by the company. Further to that, the last tabs in the homepage contains the different types of athletic games in the world and people who participates in them. The tabs includes Originals, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Training and many more. The website is precisely partitioned into three sections; the top layer, middle and bottom. In the middle section of the website, it is simply designed, and it comprises a series of detailed advertisements from different companies of which produces high-quality shoes that are the most popular. Additionally, in this middle section of the website we have several selected videos showcasing some of the products. In the same section, we have a number of products and their respective prices. To elucidate more on the tabs found on the top segment of the website, there are several links on the far end of the website. A good example is the link titled Shop Men that breaks into Shoes, Apparel, and Accessories. Additionally, there is links for the company’s information, customer care services offered and policies of the company (Adidas.com 2012). Lastly, the homepage is simple; hence the navigation is made easier and fast. Navigation ensures that the user can shift from one homepage to another to get an inclusive information. The page is stimulating and attracting due to the pictures, advertisements, and the videos. Example is pictures of football players and athletees. The examples used for its shoes are elegant, apparel is presented using models and the webpage is presentable. It is designed in a clear format. Empathy used in presentation and argument The term used to define empathy systematically is Pathos. It focuses on the ethics that are impacted on the people’s minds during an argument or presentation. Example is when introducing a new product into the market, there is a need to synsetize the customers on the availability of the product in the market. This website has perfected on this aspect, and it successfully elicits an emotional response to potential buyers. To succeed in this, the website is designed with the combination of colors. The entire web page is flanked with different colors. Example of featured colours are yellow, white and blue. The significance of this is to symbolize the tradition of Addidas that uses luminous and fascinating colors in their product (“Adidas.com” papa3). The colours are appaling and fancy.Additionally, the use of big and visible pictures makes the website more fancy and presentable. The high definition videos, with clear images, make the website attractive and understandable to all the users. The sound in the videos which are easily playable and downloadable is clear and audible. The purpose of all these efforts is to create a clear image of the product in people's mind and increase intensity. A fascinating thing is that they use a common language to describe the games they are advertising, this includes “own the ball or control the game”. Soccer games are advertised in this format. This art of advertising in their website shows originality, uniqueness and elicits good feelings in the users, and consequently they build trust on the product being advertised. Similarly, Addidas website is very accurate in creating a figurative image in the minds of their users; they also increase their popularity by creating imaginative products. Through the combination of all this strategy, more and more customers are most likely to become interested and buy the products. Enhancing credibility A common term Ethos is used to describe how the website promotes ethics. The section deals with the trustworthiness and credibility the website provokes to their customers. This translates to an increase in purchases by the customers. The primary purpose of Ethos is to build on competency, integrity, credibility and a mutual respect top all the targeted audience. The website has achieved the credibility limits since the products have been tested and tried. There is a guarantee that everyone who purchases Addidas products acquires the best product in the market. Further to that, on the website there is a clear guidance on safe internet shopping, guarantee of high quality being delivered privacy policies and measures in case of human trafficking. The good image is created by the homepage of the website to put an emphasy on the usefulness of their products. Similarly, to improve their ethics, they have a link that stipulates details of the company, their associates, career choices and vacancies. This part of the website has the company’s information. The website is ever fresh; this is because Addidas produces new products every day. For this reason, the website ought to be fresh and updated all the times to keep the customers in the limelight. The command of language in the website is also recommendable 90 % of internet users can understand the language used. They use good grammar and correct punctuations since it is a global company. Most of their customers are renowned celebrities and athletes who are found in all corners of the world. Notably, the company website started as a small entity attracting a limited followers base; however it has grown to outshine other competitors. Today, addidas is one of the best sports sellers in the world, and they have created an excellent reputation. Conclusion In my view, the purpose of this presentation was to understand the rhetoric devices applied in the website of our choice. Also to analyze the details in the website we choose. I have successfully fulfilled that task. Initially, the whole idea of rhetoric analysis was not understandable until our instructor explained to us with support of other writers who had a wider scope on this topic. At last we got the whole idea and became masters in it. Before the presentation, every member came with their answers and the ideas were combined to come up with the complete memo. For the individual memo, it was easier for me since I had an idea of the whole subject of rhetoric analysis. However, there was a need for the audience to understand it better not scantly hence a need to explain more and I details. Finally, the website is fancy, elegant, presentable, entertaining and simple. Navigation in the website is well designed hence no need of changing the website. Works Cited Adidas.com.
