Summary of Chapter 9 Introduction: This chapter is aimed to focus on the interaction design of the software products and users’ involvement in the system development. Questions about the interaction design are also answered and four basic activities introduced in chapter 1 are revisited. Activity 1 describes the usability goals of the system as its effectiveness, efficiency and safety. Involvement of the users in the system development enhances the feelings of users as it increases the sense of the ownership towards the product and its use (Rogers, Sharp and Preece 323).

Role of users for the redevelopment of the Open University of UK for academic purposes have been considerable. Activity 2 involves the experience (buying behaviour and pattern) of the users from online and offline shopping environment. This activity is also intended to establish the requirement, build the prototype and evaluation in order to fill the missing requirements with the system. If I am the user of the system I would have provided my concerns for the existing shopping system.

Interaction design required a simple lifecycle model to relate the captured set of activities. From the discussion of this chapter on the user centered approach of the system, I have come across of many issues about the actual users of the system, meaning of requirements. What is meant by the alternative design and integration of the interaction design activities? Therefore, rest of the chapter seeks the answers of the above questions (Rogers, Sharp and Preece 333). Role of stakeholder for the system development is obviously significant.
