It entails the features that make it better than other electronic commerce websites among other issues.Alibaba.com is a Chinese e-commerce website that provides a platform for online market place, payment platforms among other services. It is my favorite e-commerce website because it offers the sale and purchase of a wide range of electronic products ranging from laptops, cameras, and satellite decoders among others. It is simple to use with limited account verifications.

Alibaba.com website has got several capabilities that favor the site from other competitors. The site contains contact information through which buyers and sellers can communicate. The contact information includes emails, and phone numbers-both mobile, and landlines. Furthermore, it has social network tools like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, and MySpace among others which ease buyers' and sellers' interaction. Alibaba.com adopts different business strategies like an operational business strategy which ensures; the delivery of products to the buyer, an operational electronic money transfer system, and an updated order list among other functions. Business unit strategy is observed by attractive advertisements and fair prices that attract and retain customers. A buyer pays the required amount through an electronic money transfer platform, ‘Alipay’ before the goods’ delivery.

The corporate business strategy applies to the website as different companies and individuals can do their business through the website. Security is a very important aspect of online business. The site is secured with an SLL certificate which encrypts the communication between the sellers, manufacturers, and buyers. Identity theft is one of the greatest challenges facing e-commerce and the site has adopted Entrust and VeriSign technologies to create some privacies. The site is a mobile-ready version that can access through mobile gadgets like smartphones, tablets, and phones among others. Research indicates the majority of young people possess such gadgets both in developed and developing nations, hence the site can be accessed by many people around the entire globe, an attribute of a good e-commerce website.

The site has a question and answers section through which the clients or customers can ask sellers or manufacturers relevant questions about the products and services in the sale. Previous customers can also comment on the quality of a certain product and any buyer can use such comments before making a final decision. A good e-commerce website should have an appropriate search engine in terms of speed and details. Alibaba.com uses an ‘e Tao’ independently owned search engine which provides comprehensive shopping details to the customers.

There are several e-commerce websites in the entire globe. This has created stiff competition among online sellers. An attractive website would be a plus for the selling agencies. Alibaba.com attracts clients by the clear images of the products to be sold. The images give good information to the buyers like the product type, size, and color among others. The web pages contain colorful and animated images that remain attractive to the customers among other features (Valacich 154). Read More
