Clinical Research Informatics Clinical research informatics provide a whole range of technology solutions to the health care organizations. This is one of the major technological finds that have brought a revolutionary change and improvement in the quality of clinical research. Clinical research informatics is essentially an integrated software solution that helps the health care organizations managed the data integration, collaboration, and logistics that the translational investigators as well as their institutions need to boost their efficiency.

This class of informatics interoperates with the data mining, health information technology, and statistics analysis. Clinical research informatics primarily derives its importance from the fact that it is the lynchpin which links the innovative technologies to their use in the patient care (Majumder, 2012). Clinical research informatics facilitates the ongoing dialogues among both practitioners and researchers in their constant surge to create a dynamic environment of clinical research. “The development of CRI…drives a growing pool of scientific literature based on original CRI research, and high-impact tools and systems will be developed” (Richesson and Andrews, 2012).

Health care organizations benefit from the clinical research informatics as they unveil innovative treatment options for the diseases to improve the quality of health care. Clinical research informatics enhance the translational continuum on four levels; “basic research to clinical trials (T1), clinical trials to academic health center practice (T2), diffusion and implementation to community practice (T3), and ‘real world’ outcomes (T4)” (Kahn and Weng, 2012). Hence, clinical research informatics make it possible for the health care organizations to apply the theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
