Current architecture is important in any organization because of the different benefits that help specific business processes. The presence ofcurrent state architecture in Light Walkers Ltd is an important part of all business processes in which the organization participates. This paper will discuss the ways in which current state architecture promotes the functions of the finance department in the organization. This will mainly focus on the ways in which the current state architecture system increases the efficiency of the department and reduces the costs allocated for the process.

In the organization, Light Walkers Ltd, it is evident that the organization uses a centralized mode of IT support systems. From an analysis of the support systems, it is evident that there are more benefits than limitations presented by the centralized IT system. The first strength of the centralized IT support system is the ability of management to organize and sort through all the data that pertains to the financial health of the company (Ross, Weill and Robertson, 2006). In this case, the financial controller in the company has the ability to view real-time data and organize the data for easy report presentation.

The efficiency of the business process is enhanced by the presence of the centralized business system. In terms of cost-effectiveness, it is evident that the system offers a method of cost reduction, since the staff used is present in one position (Stair and Reynolds, 2012). The cost-effectiveness of the system is also evident from the fact that the system is integrated to provide real-time results. In this case, financial management benefits from the immediate interpretation of financial data.

Conversely, the presence of legacy systems in the organization provides a hindrance for the financial business process. In this case, the presence of legacy systems means that some parts of the organization still rely on old systems for financial management (De Heuvel, 2009). As already stated, the presence of centralized IT support systems offers a way of reducing the costs and increasing the effectiveness of the business process. However, a failure to improve to modern systems in the organization means that Light Walkers Ltd does not reap the full benefits of modern resource systems.

Light Walkers Ltd has a policy of standardizing all business processes, and in the case of financial management, it is evident that the standardization offers a myriad benefits. In the case of Light Walkers Ltd, standardization of the financial management business process refers to the creation of uniform business processes in the organization. This means that the organization specializes in the creation of specific data exchange standards for the whole organization. This process offers the main benefit of ease of access to the data possessed by the organization.

In reference to cost-effectiveness, this system help in reducing the number of personnel needed in the organization (De Heuvel, 2009). The presence of standardized data means that all branches of the organization have access to equal training needs, which means that Light Walkers Ltd does not have to invest in different training needs for the organization. In conclusion, it is evident that current state architecture systems are a benefit to Light Walkers Ltd, since the related processes help in cost reduction and improvement of organizational effectiveness.
