Running head: CHALLENGES - REGULATIONS, ETHICS, AND SECURITY Challenges - Regulations, Ethics, and Security Insert Insert 14 December 2013 Challenges - Regulations, Ethics, and Security Introduction There are various challenges and risks associated with projects implementation, some of which include issues dealing with regulations, ethics, and even security. This paper therefore will reflect on the various general risk challenges associated with projects including the regulatory, ethical and security challenges affecting the projects.

Again, the paper will discuss some of the federal state regulations and the changes to the local regulations, which can cause challenges to the project. Besides, the paper will also discuss and specifically determine how these challenges can affect the project and the community at large. In addition, the paper will propose a viable approach including security breaches of internal and external securities, as well as ethical issues of leadership on the project (Goode and Malik, 2011). Challenges and risk associated with projects There are various project management challenges, including security challenges that usually affect the project’s construction and completion.

Firstly, there is the challenge of internal insecurity, which occurs when the project is designed in such a way that it allows information to be shared and accessed by all the departments. When the information is shared and accessed by all the departments, most of the patient’s information will need to be covered and protected in order to enhance confidentiality. However, the positive side of sharing information will be increased knowledge and consultations among professionals, leading to the correct medical diagnosis to all patients.

Again, this will enhance the reputation of the project on the community, leading to more clients being attracted to the clinic. External Security Challenges In most cases, external security matters usually affect the completion of the project. Therefore, there is need of the project to provide more reliable and effective registration of patients within the shortest time possible in order for the community and the patients to gain trust towards the clinic. This will also benefit the community in that, the clinic will be in a position to provide the best, and most effective services to the community, thus increasing its reputation (Goode and Malik, 2011).

Regulations and Ethical Challenges There are various regulations and ethical conducts put in place, which must be followed by all the team members in project implementation. These include environmental regulations, economic regulations, and social regulations. Again, project implementation team members need to adhere and comply with certain ethical requirements; for example, it is mandatory for local and statutory authorities to give permission in order for the project to run up to completion.

In addition, the project implementation team should adhere to rules such as proper environmental conservation. Failure to follow these regulations and ethical standards may derail implementation of the project or even cause negative consequences to the community. Besides, there may also be communication challenge, which affects data flow. This challenge can be eliminated by providing ways of ensuring easy flow of data from one department to another. In addition, all databases and records would need to be properly kept and updated in order to provide the leadership an easy access to and proper management of data (Nunan and Di Domenico, 2013).

Therefore, the project should be designed in such a way that it incorporates well-documented health care information in order to fill the previously existing gap of information. Indeed, this will enhance effecting of various changes such as expansion of the project and acceleration of services to customers. When all these are put into consideration, it means that the project will take a shorter duration to complete, thus motivating the team implementing the project to put more effort and extra time in its implementation work.

However, this may trigger a bigger challenge in terms of ethical regulations that guide the projects, since the team may overlook ethical standards of the project as it works faster to complete the project in time. Therefore, proper communication between the clinic administration and the team implementing the project will not only enhance effectiveness of the project, but also ensure all the regulatory procedures and policies are complied with. In addition, communication and sharing of information between the team implementing the project should also be of paramount importance, since it will enhance teamwork and harmony among members of the implementation team.

In contrast, lack of communication between members would lead to some members withdrawing from the team, leading to delays and more challenges in completion of the project. Indeed, this will not only lead to delays in project implementation, but also inefficiency proposed resources utilization in the project. Therefore, to avoid the challenging changes that affect the project and the community, proper communication is necessary within the team and the clinic administration (Perna, 2013). Project Leadership On the project leadership, there is management system that is responsible for the coordination and handling of information and issues related to admissions, supplies, and population management.

Although this may have been put in place, there may be a challenge of overlapping information and poor management of human resource data. Therefore, the project leadership should establish the necessary ways and methods of controlling and managing data in the clinic (Perna, 2013). Indeed, proper leadership would not only aid in coordination of information and systems within the project, but also provide direction towards which the project implementatiuon team should focus. Technology Challenges Another challenge affecting data in the project is the data integration.

Here, the viewer of the report may be old and may not understand the various operating systems put in place. Generally, the project would provide a long lasting solution towards this challenge by promoting proper delivery of services to staff and customers. The project will also ensure that there is easier management of records, limited paperwork, and reduced duration of registration or admission as well as patients’ waiting time. Nevertheless, updated and efficient technology will enhance easy sharing and access to information by different departments, such as the medical records department, personnel management department and the inventory department (Goode and Malik, 2011).

There is also the challenge of workflow system that covers the computer-human interaction and the field of databases. This calls for the need of involving the technology in all areas of research thereby encouraging workflow. Again, the workflow infrastructure is necessary in order to establish the best solutions relating to business development of the project. Therefore, it would be necessary to review the financial information of the project and allow individuals to use technology such as spreadsheets.

Moreover, by eliminating this workflow challenge the project implementation would lead to enhanced and effective service delivery to clients (Wager, Lee and Glaser, 2009). Budgeting Challenges Budgeting challenge includes the determination of labor cost, taxes, wages, and insurance for the project. In order for the project to work effectively, there is need to provide proper labor costing including training costs and labor market expenditure. In addition, budgeting is fundamental in an organization, since it allows proper management of funds and resources in the organization.

Budgeting also accounts for the future plans, and helps in control and management of resources. Besides, some direct costs affect the project such as labor cost, printing, and computing cost, which require proper budgeting to allow the project to run smoothly up to completion (Goode and Malik, 2011).
