Computers will lead to the destruction of humankind in the near future Introduction The advancement of technology through the help of computer science and information has had negative effects on human kind. For instance, technology has led to the invention and innovation of many ways of enhancing efficiency and convenience in the daily chores. This makes the children spend much time with computers hence compromising their performance on other tasks. This makes them to forgo an opportunity for educational development and computer exposure programs. This owes to the fact that children have high affinity for entertainment hence they spend time in playing games like Sega. In addition, children spend much time in the watching of television via the internet. The long time spent on the computer affects the physical health of children and adults alike. This also affects a person’s social life because it limits the time spent in socializing and making of social networks. Computers will lead to the destruction of humankind in the near future. The children’s perceptions of reality are compromised leading to inability to make sound judgments. In addition, the cognitive and the development of the child are affected. Communication has also been shifted to the use of computers. Staying long with a computer also contributes in the increase of weight among people because of lack of required body exercise. This also affects the eyesight of a person because of overexposure of the eyes to a lot of computer monitor screen light. Accessibility to the computer deprives many people of the power of imagination hence creativity and innovation power of people is compromised. The use of computers has paved way for computer data hackers and software piracy, which has resulted in the loss of confidential information from secured locations. In addition, this has resulted in the loss of billions of dollars through the cyber-crimes. Online piracy has also resulted in the loss of business for some people especially the music artistes. These crimes are usually hard to track down and prosecute given that comprehensive laws have not been established to deal with the crimes. Moreover, it is hard to trace people online physically hence the people who propagate the crimes capitalize on this aspect. The computers have resulted in less time for social affairs for many people resulting in domestic chaos and conflicts. This arises as a result of lack of time for socializing and problem-solving with friends and relatives of an individual. Unfortunately, the internet exposes the children to pornographic movies and videos, which corrupt their minds. This may also result in the commission of immoral acts by the children. Communication online is not a good channel to convey confidential information because of lack of trust for the two people from different graphical user interfaces. Technology makes people to cut ties with their friends and acquaintances, which erode the aspect of human co-existence. In fact, a person is turned into a robot. According to Meghanathan, Dhinaharan and Brajesh, there is a price paid in the use of technology though it makes life easy (32). Computer technology lacks the mechanism of rectifying the children after they commit mistakes due to technology-based exposure like pornographic movie watching. The people encountered in the course of utilizing computer technology in using information, sometimes mislead the public with regard to acquisition of communication skills. For instance, the mumbling nature of most speakers on TV sets denies children the opportunity to learn the language through the media. In addition, the violence films broadcasted negatively impact children because they seek to rehearse the taekwondo skills on TV and online movies. The vulgar language used in these instances is emulated by the children leading to immoral behavior among the children. Indeed, the swearing manifest in most movies is emulated by the children. These behaviors are provocative in society thus the children are required to reform. This compromises spiritual growth and nurture of the children. The information technology of mobile texting has also compromised the learning of language among the skills. The shortening of words in text communication misleads the children with regard to the spelling of words. Moreover, this manifests the failure of parents, society and the education system in proper upbringing and training of children. Indeed technological advancement has increased the workload for teachers and parents because the media, internet and other technological channels of information, have exposed the children to bad behaviors. This takes time before children reform. According to Kim and Hojjat, learning of writing skills has become difficult because children have access to technological gadgets like computers, for writing (46). This deprives the children the opportunity to learn the writing skills because their psychomotor skills development is compromised. Moreover, the workers in the workplace have been negatively impacted because they lack writing skills, which are essential in the documentation process. This is because they are used to the use of computers. The use of e-mail has also been overused to the extent that the audio and physical communication has been given the second priority. The training and orientation of people into the use of computer and information technology and use is tedious and stressful for people learning the use. Technology also causes disturbances at the workplace especially when calls, texts and e-mails overwhelm the respondent because of traffic over the communication channel. This results to low productivity and quality of service given that the human brain takes eight minutes to reach a creative state. Furthermore, technological advancement has resulted in high levels unemployment due to emphasis on capital intensive mode of production. This is full use of machinery and equipment in the process of manufacturing. The pressure put upon the personnel working with computer in offices are always under pressure to meet a deadline. This has resulted in cardiac attack in some instances hence compromising the health of the workers. Technology has also resulted in the brain damage among the children who have become addicted of the computer games. This spells doom for the coming generations given that exposure to the electronic devices is high, and technology is upbeat by day. According to Khosrowpour, teenage boys and girls can resort to fatal actions like suicide in case they lose in a game (34) .This owes to the fact that they have not intellectually matured. There is also a close relationship between the crime rate among the young people and the computer games prevalence. Indeed, computer games, which feature war and war strategies, culminate in the crime commission by the young people who play games and watch related movies. Technology has also contributed in the creation of sophisticated software, which aid in the propelling of missiles hence aiding in wars. Moreover, the creation of, malwares, spams, spyware, and Trojan computer viruses has led to massive destruction of vital documents online. This has also resulted in total breakdown of some systems where no back-up of documents exists. The rate at which new technological methods are introduced into the market is higher than the response time for the subjects. This denies the people time to weigh on the benefits and demerits of a given technology. For instance, the aspect of the nuclear technology requires critical analysis valuation and evaluation before the new technology is utilized the world over. Many people are prone to cardiac and neural diseases given the pressure of working with computer machines for long hours. The overreliance on the technology to carry out various tasks has compromised creativity of the personnel given that they cannot take any initiative in accomplishing any task. Use of the electronics has led to commission of numerous blunders because of difficulty in tracing responsibility of crimes within an organization. The monotony associated with the continuous use of computers for the same tasks is counterproductive because it results in repetitive stress injury among the victims. The advancement in technology has led to discrimination on the grounds the techno savvy people and the indigenous people. This has led to an unnecessary disparity in society. It also leads to ant-social behaviors among those who spend much time in browsing, chatting, and texting. Use of technology has eroded the cultural norms and values hence compromising the propagation of tradition and culture in the societies. Computer use is a major source of distraction in the workforce of any organization. The employees spend much time with the computers at the expense of productivity and quality of services. Moreover, crime rate has increased due to convenient and efficient communication channels. The hacking of the computer systems usually results in huge losses given that bank accounts of the institutions can be drained, and confidential information can be accessed. The sophistication in technology has enabled the screening of the employees in order to regulate their activities. This in effect has led to the infringement of the privacy rights of the employees. Technology has led to the invention of sophisticated weapons used for mass destruction. The use of decision support systems which mimic the normal human decision making of humans has led to laxity of managers and reduction in the creativity on the part of the managers. This owes to the fact that the virtual systems and the other management support systems make the management work easy .The computers must have an attendant because they cannot work on their own. This consumes time and energy of the attendants. The use of technology based method in research has paved way for plagiarism which has compromised the copy rights of scholars (Reilly 24). It allows the copying and pasting trend which is counterproductive in the intellectual development, and it also contravenes the ethical standards which guide the society. The use of computers in communication poses a challenge of miscommunication. This arises when the receiver deducts a different meaning from the sender’s intended meaning .This can result in unanticipated mayhem and undue mistakes. In fact, it is hard for the receiver of information to have 100% understanding of the information sent because some aspects like satire may not be noticed in communication unless it is a live oral communication. Conclusion Computers will lead to the destruction of humankind in the near future. This is evident in the negative impact of the use of computer science and information technology. For instance, the use of computer science in the creation, testing and guiding the course of is detrimental to human welfare. Works Cited Khosrowpour, Mehdi.
