Professor at Maastricht University in The Netherlands; he is also the founder of the Institute for Research on Intercultural Cooperation (Hofstede, Hofstede & Minkov, 2010, 05). This paper seeks to review his main idea in the book. It will further look into the notion that each person has distinctive individuality. Finally, a conclusion will be drawn based on the review whether it is a book worth recommending for others to read and borrow from. Chapter one of the book explores the value of understanding culture and its dynamics especially the central values and the cultures related to societies.

Indeed, this is a critical chapter that offers valuable lessons to the youths as far as understanding the cultural diversity around the world is concerned. The second chapter involves data collection and approval of intercultural research well presented in a manner that show how cross-cultural studies should be done. Chapter three up to seven presents a comprehensive explanation of vital variables in the cultural diversity. These variables are discussed as follows: This aspect focuses on the level of disparity in culture, which can be referred to as the power distance index.

Moreover, it considers a variety of responses that exist in a number of countries to the main question of how to deal with the inequality of people. Power distance refers to the scope under which the less influential members of societies within a country anticipate and acknowledge the power difference. Individualism and collectiveness- individualism relates to the cultures in which the ties connecting persons are loose. In this case, everyone is anticipated to take care of themselves and their immediate family.

On the other hand, collectiveness relates to cultures in which individuals from their birth throughout their life are assimilated into strong and unified groups. Such groups during people’s existence continue to defend them in exchange for absolute allegiance (Hofstede, 2005, 76). This
