Research Paper: Human Resource (HR) s ment of the problem Work done by individuals in an organization has resulted to poor quality deliverables unlike the ones undertaken in a collaborative manner (Hepworth, 2013). Nevertheless, the risk, with leveraging individual intelligence, is that no one is perfect. Everybody has strengths as well as weaknesses. The personal weaknesses of senior leaders become problematic and at times even lethal, when businesses are organized to leverage person intelligence.

The most significant human achievement is the active large organization. Apart from being part of the effort, that makes a difference and a contribution to an organization that none of us could have done alone there are some other satisfactions. We need to work and collaborate with other people in order for us to be part of something extraordinary (Cohen, 2013). Research question Is collaboration better than individual effort in the success of an organization?MethodologyParticipantsIn this research paper, we will use five leading companies including Xerox, HP, BP, P&G and IBM that have spent heavily on collaborative software.

These companies have begun to identify networks of employees doing related work in their hope to disseminate sharing expertise and best practices (Cohen, 2013). Data collectionThe methods of obtaining information, are administering short questionnaires, using existing data (using project charge codes and time cards), observing employees, and tracking e-mail. Data analysis The results were analyzed using statistical tools and devices such as ANOVA FindingsIt was found out that companies using collaborative techniques tend to perform better than the ones using individual efforts.

Discussion of findings This is because collaboration entails the team’s knowledge and effort; sharing of information and ideas; pooling together of both information-based and tangible resources; and diversification of capabilities and talents of individuals between agencies (Cultures, n.d).
