? Entrepreneurship Entrepreneurship Evaluate your own characteristics as an entrepreneurial person I am a passionate person who is forward looking when it comes to pursuing a course of action. This part of me has enabled me to pursue various endeavors to their conclusive end. I always have a deep conviction that what I set my heart and mind to achieve, nothing can stop me even the seeming insurmountable obstacles. I have learnt the art of patience when faced with obstacle (Beach 1999). It is engraved in my belief system that tough times only comes in one’s life to teach some lessons in life. This motto drives me amidst moments of confusion. I often decide to pursue endeavors after a thorough evaluation of them; this approach often makes me to pursue these dreams with a lot of dedication with a lot of focus. I have always known that opportunities are limitless in the world. This needs a person with the temperament to handle the temptations of pursuing various dreams. It is within my belief that pursuing lots of dreams divide peoples’ attention thus becoming ineffective. As for me I follow one course of action until its conclusive success. I am further a very open-minded individual. I believe in continuous learning from people and from every event. This is why I make likeminded associations. I value learning and I have constant urge of doing research of the business that I put myself to (Brown, Kumin, & Finch 2005). I also do continuous study and evaluation of the trends in the market to come up with the best way of meeting the expectations of my esteemed customers. I do not also fear to fail. I often know that there is nothing like failure in life. When a project does not work, I do not give up but I find lessons of the mistakes that I have done. This helps me in evaluation and picking the right track of action to make things work in a better model. I also have an immense desire to be an expert and an authority in a specific field. This desire pushes me to stay in a field long enough to have factual knowledge about the same field. Through this wish and hope; I have devised a strong will to persist and to stay in an endeavor until I see myself becoming self actualized in an endeavor (Lippincott & Wilkins, & Ovid Technologies 2004). Other than that, I always want to help other people thrive in the same area that I have. To do this, I have to be an expert who can make other people experts (Dillon 2007). I want success with many successors. It is about building a good legacy. To build a good legacy, it is important that one should perform exceptionally well to have others to develop the desire to follow the same course. Lastly, I often want to be a solution to peoples’ problems and issues. This aspect motivates me to think creatively to find ways through which I can help others secure jobs by creating for them expansive jobs through which they can grow and become self-actualized. Other than that, I want to come up with products and services, which satisfy human needs and desires. By this, I always think of productive things that can make this a reality through strong forward-looking approach to everything. Does lateral thinking comes easily or do you find it challenging Lateral thinking is the frame of my thought. I find it intuitive and I do not struggle with it. I often look at the obvious and normal things in life and through connecting events and phenomena I often find good solutions to the problems that confronts me. I am also not very comfortable with the norms and traditional ways of doing things. That is why I often look for new ways of doing things. I am always in the move of giving everything a new approach to life. I detest the norms but I appreciate new things and I desire and admire new ideas. Literal and creative thinking is my appreciable art and skill. To what extent do you thrive to uncertainty or do you fear it? When confronted with uncertain situation, I do not tire neither do I quit. I often find ways of learning how to overcome the challenges that I am confronted with because I know that every challenge that comes our way are meant to be overcome. I value getting new insights in life and taking new approaches have enabled me to thrive and sail through life. Whenever am clouded with moments of confusion and tough times tends to loom on my way, the mode of life that I adopt in that of unquenchable persistence. I find myself strongly encompassed to tackle all the troubles that sets in my path with firm persistence knowing that I was am meant to overcome. Many a times I prosper during such troubling moments and whenever I come out of them, I find myself to a higher level of experience, knowledge, and confidence. This is the audacity of hope and the stamina of faith that I sail with through difficult situations and circumstances. Sometimes it is becomes quite challenging to get all the insights of overcoming situations by oneself; such terrifying moments calls for open mindedness. Most of the time I consult with the leverage groups to get counsel on how to go about troubling moments. Seeking counsel from people is helpful because from other people we get to get some insights that we could not otherwise have when dealing with situations. I often have strong will that makes me get convinced in the face of even the insurmountable difficulty that I am meant to win. This unwavering faith enables me to pursue through endeavors. Through persistent pursuit of life, I get to win most of the time. Whenever I become persistent, I get new ideas through hunches, which comes to my brains and upon application of these guidance, I find myself overcoming the problems easily. With this knowledge and drive of thought and the motivation of pursuit, it would be very difficult for me to work in a structured organization with the conventional management style. Structured organizations and the conventional management systems cannot conform well with my though and my concepts (Smith, & Kraynak 2009). First, structured organizations have protocols, which limit ones, creativity. This is not helpful to a visionary individual. Structured organizations are bound to kill dreams because people therein are programmed to follow specific schedules and programs of operations (Olumoroti, & Kassim 2005). Employees in such kinds of organizations work on peoples’ ideas and thoughts without the opportunity of contributing their ideas to an endeavor. In a structured organization, one is meant to be a follower who is rewarded by how best they follow instructions and deviating from the norm attracts a punishment. This is a form of domestication, which a creative mind with an urge of making significant achievement in life cannot conform to. I can thus thrive in an entrepreneurial organization and better still become and entrepreneurial manager. In an entrepreneurial organization, everybody is valued and the opinion of everybody is sought after when making a decision. In this kind of an organization, everybody including the junior employers feel as though they are part of the organization. Everybody here is given the opportunity to express his or her ideas and thoughts. There is no limitation of growth and communication is transformational. In an entrepreneurial organization, there is more of leadership than management. Instructions are given through influence and not by orders (Paulman 2012). People follow the leader or the management because they know why they are doing that. Everybody becomes part of the larger team. In such an organization, people have good relationship not only in teams of boss-worker but mostly as team members. Bosses value their employees and they seek to motivate them to rise to great heights of achievements. Such an organization is not rigid and its structures can often be adjusted to accommodate new thoughts and ideas. The organization is very open to accommodate innovation and it gives one the opportunity to grow and even become self-actualized. What have you learnt about others for example, in what ways are members of your group enterprising? After the lessons learnt throughout the module, I came to learnt that most members of our group were very enterprising. Lesson leant through the advent of entrpreunrship-changed peoples’ minds and group members started thinking of how they can live meaningful live without limiting themselves to the normal and the obvious conventional way of doing things (Chambers, Germain, & Brown 2010). Group members were laying strategies through which they could open their businesses and some were making strides through which they could contribute meaningfully to their organizations that they were working in or that they were planning to join. I had a personal touch and influence on the thinking process of my group members. I endeavored to bring to them various aspects of the importance of being entrepreneurs and the ultimate reward of expressing ones knowledge and thought in life (Ferrell, & Coyle 2006). I also encouraged them to appreciate creativity and seek to improve upon things that have been without becoming contented with the traditional way of doing things. If I have the opportunity of talking and being with them again, I would do and teach them the spirit of resilience and the art of persistence which most of them are well articulate. What did you note about proactive and reactive? While in the group, learnt that most people are comfortable until a situation arises nis when they confront them. People especially my group members were comfortable until a situation arouse. This is a reactive behavior. On the other hand, there are group members who were cautious and they always wanted to solve issues before they arise by focus and anticipating on the likely outcomes of things and events. These proactive people want to avoid situations before they arise. As a person, I advocated for a mean between the two to be on the safe side of things.
