World History Before 1500 Q1 In as much as military conquests have resulted in the expansion of some elements of civilization, there are many more accruing from the early occurrences of colonization. Colonialists brought numerous civilization elements to their colonies, which entail changes that are evident in structural, cultural, governance and economic domains (Fernández 74)). For instance, the European colonists instilled there system of rule to the African and American colonies. Additionally, new farming and production methods were spread by the colonialists, which has never emanated from military conquests.

Other elements include important civilization tools like introduction of writing.Q2The resurgent Greek civilization was characterized by population growth, the rice of metallurgy technology and development of intensive and extensive agriculture. The Greek civilization was defined by acquisition of knowledge and they relied on agriculture for sustenance while the Phoenician civilization was developed through trade. They were mighty traders and dominated the sea trade for approximately 3000 years.

They Phoenician civilization brought Asian culture into the Europe through trade that affected Greece and the whole Mediterranean immensely (Fernández 107).Q3The main developments occurred in the area of medicine and artistry such as metallurgy and music. They developed in agriculture by use of metallic tools and fertilizer; they became masters in the areas of mathematics, astrology, geography, physics and astronomy. The Chinese at the time of Zhou dynasty develop writing as well (Fernández 105).

The Aryans: were warrior people, inhabited the Ganges valley. They did not develop writing as earlier as the Chinese did. They had little interest in painting and sculpture, neither did they engage in trade, but they mainly practiced agriculture.Q4Technology spurred major changes in the Americas and sub- Saharan Africa since it helped boost production in agriculture through use of machines to prepare farmland, use of fertilizer and irrigation. It also encouraged the trade of agricultural produce by simplifying transportation to other regions (Fernández 92).

The links that existed between sub-Saharan Africa and Asia based on trade: they engaged in batter trade especially on agricultural produce. Q5Cultural transmission in Americas and Africa lacked vast climatic chasms from south to north and north to south, which called for different strategies for trade. Monsoonal wind system of maritime Asia and stable Mediterranean weather favored navigation and communications between Asia and Europe (Eurasia), which encouraged trade (Fernández 82). This was hard in sub-Saharan Africa where hostile winds and lee shores discouraged trade.

Certain Eurasian empires collapsed as others thrived due to many factors. Conquests were rampant at the time as empires sough for more resources. The empires, which could keep abreast to the fast changing circumstances and rapidly growing civilization, therefore, thrived at the benefit of others. The political structure of some empires did not favor effective governance that led to their collapse, while others were not simply advantaged by their geographical and climatic positions and conditions respectively.

Q6The Mycenaean civilization that comprises of a number of small states arose throughout the Greek peninsula. The Mycenaean Greeks dominated the Minoan Crete civilization. The Babylonian Amorites also emerged and developed a civilization with many Sumerian cultural elements. It extended in small states to Mesopotamia. The Hittite empire, which is Indo-European invaded Anatolia in 2000 BC and established a large nation ruled by a central government. Among the states in this civilization, Egypt was the most powerful (Fernández 110).
