Creation Of Pakistan It was in the late nineteenth century and in the early twentieth century that nationalism started growing and developing throughout the Asia Pacific. Communism was hence considered to be a powerful force in all the countries present in the Asia Pacific. The reaction of the Asians towards the “Treaty of Versailles” demonstrated that how exactly the Asian’s picture the future of Asia clashed with the Eurocentric and Western vision of the world. At that point of time starting a nationalist movement was easy because all it required were some dedicated leaders who had the power of predicting the future of their nation. On June 23, 1947 the partition of the subcontinent was announced by the British. It was then that the foundation of a new Islamic state named Pakistan was laid. This was considered to be a practical initiation of the creation of a brand new nation, whose values were laid on strong norms and beliefs. Pakistan’s Independence Day is celebrated on August 14 every year. This day is actually considered to be the celebration of the announcement of a country coming into being. The creation of Pakistan was not merely an idea. It however came into being when the first Muslim stepped on this piece of land. The independence day of Pakistan is celebrated on a grand scale by its citizens. The whole nation on this particular day shares the spirit of brotherhood, unity, serenity, comradeship and global peace. People must understand that the creation of Pakistan was not lesser than a miracle. It was the creation of the land where religions like Hinduism and Buddhism were rooted for thousands of years. People didn’t even imagine that it is possible to conquer such a piece of land for the purpose of implementing the principles and teachings of Islam. It was in the 18th century when the people of the Arab countries including the Muslims were contributing their parts to flourish trade between different countries. It was then that the detention of a Muslim lady had been reported to Hajjaj Bin Youssef who was a great Muslim leader. He then sent a nuke youngster almost 17 years old named Muhammad Bin Qasim to invade the land and acclimatize the detained Muslim lady. Muhammad Bin Qasim the great Islamic warrior invaded and defeated Raju Dahir with a limited army and captured the Port of Debal which is now known as Karachi. It was then that the Muslim scholars began to arrive to the subcontinent. This can be considered as a great breakthrough towards the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims. The true teachings of Islam were preached to the local residents who have been spoiled in the darkness. The Islamic scholars also observed that the people have been fed up of the ridiculous beliefs and norms of their religion such as burning women as soon as their husband is dead. They instantly accepted the teachings of Islam as it relived them from the frustrated customs and unwanted norms of their religion. The ultimate influence of the scholars was that Islam started spreading drastically all over the subcontinent. This progress of Islam in the subcontinent was not being accepted by the critic racialists as they started making propagandas and strategies against Islam. With the passage of time this propaganda turned out to be more critical. The subcontinent was under the rule of the Muslims for about seven centuries. This was however a very long duration but still the two major religions of the subcontinent were not able to come together to mix up with one another. After the English invaded the subcontinent they changed the entire political scene and they ruled this large area for about two hundred years. The Muslims of the subcontinent suffered a lot during the reign of the English. They were deprived of the basic necessities of life, jobs, their properties and almost every other thing. This sense of immorality hence helped in provoking the sense of riots in them, which eventually reinforced the idea of the creation of Pakistan. Fortunately there were many great men present among the Muslims of the subcontinent who were able to analyze the situation effectively. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was indeed a great Muslim leader who had the ability of forecasting the future. He actively took part in the campaign for laying the foundation of Pakistan and also took some solid steps to fail the propagandas and conspiracies of the Hindus and the British against the Muslims of the subcontinent. The efforts of the Muslim leaders and the sacrifice of the people bore fruits and after the losing the lives and property of millions of Muslims in brutal and insane acts of molesting women, finally Pakistan came into existence. The dawn of August 14, 1947 was a landmark in the history of Pakistan and it was a tribute to the sacrifice and efforts of all the people who have taken part in their tremendous achievement in one way or the other [Cre13]. There is a lot of complexity, nuance and issues related to the reasons of creation of Pakistan. However one of the primary reasons that why Pakistan came into being is because the leaders as well as the people wanted the existence of a land where they are allowed to freely practice the teachings and principles of Islam. The huge piece of land called the subcontinent under the British rule was partitioned into 3 different lands. Each of these pieces of lands was created because its inhabitants followed one or two common religions. The independence movement in the subcontinent started in the last half of the 19th century. However it began to strengthen in the early years of the 20th century, as the nationalism began to rise in the continents of Asia and Africa. Crusaders such as Mahatma Gandhi started their campaign for independence from the British. This independence campaign captured the international interest because of the actions of leaders like Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Mohandas Gandhi. The pressure created by the riots was much for the British to ignore. India, however at that time was not considered to be a country that was full of like-minded people, when it comes to following a common religion. The two fundamentally different religions i.e. Islam and Hinduism represented the soulful landscape of the second largest country of the world, at that time. It was the conflict between the people of the two faiths that influenced the partition of the colonial subcontinent into the India and Pakistan. Hinduism, one of the world’s oldest religions had about millions of followers residing in India. Islam too had many followers; however its history was much shorter than that of Hinduism. The partition of the subcontinent was done according to the population concerns by the Brits. India then, as well as at present was populated by the Hindus, whereas on the other hand the population of Pakistan was based mostly on Muslims. Neither of these countries was homogeneous and this partition separated many people from their families and friends. After the creation of the Wall of Berlin the partition of India created more problem than it solved. India’s population was majorly based on the Hindus, however there was sizable Muslim population too in the country. The reverse was true for Pakistan as well.
