American HistoryWomen in the 1940s faced discrimination because of the uncouth misrepresentation in the society. The women recorded low percent of college attendants and even smaller fractions at the professional level. However, they got reforms in 1960 when the birth control motion was reinforced through the government framework. After the government move, women organizations developed and started a nationwide campaign for feminism and equal right to both men and women. The civil rights and feminist program surfaced in the 1950s and 1960s.

The initiatives expanded women's sense of right to equal services, openings, and treatment. In 1973, Roe Wade’s decision to allow women access to family planning information and medical attention changed the public notion of the women (Hausman 79). Title X of the Public Health Act catered for women by providing free medical attention and care pertaining to pregnancy and birth. The initiatives fueled public awareness on equity and trained women leaders on how to advocate for their rights. This led to expansion and establishment of Women Educational Equity Act, which provided women with the right to employment and education.

This provided them with equal protection against sexual harassment. Education took a new format and exploded with huge numbers of women joining colleges. The poverty levels in the society dropped owing to more graduates who suited the market niche. The role of women changed from the aspect of ‘stay at home wives' to more sophisticated and learned people in the society. Gay rights in the society arose to limit the growth and spread of gayness in the society. In 1954, laws were enacted targeting bars and association of gay people (Hudson 12).

The New Jersey act did not allow gay and lesbians to be within the confines of a bar. Bars known to the harbor for gay people were shut down by the Alcoholic Beverage Commission Department. The failure of financial markets in 1929 led to the critical examination of the state's economic status (Thomas 175). The stock markets crashed, and depression led to the closure of several banks. In 1960, the state also hit a snag in the economy and recession took place. The rates of unemployment skyrocketed to the extent of changing the motor sector so that less cash would be spent on fuel.

The 1970s Chevy consumed a lot of fuel and this would worsen the recession. Therefore, this led to the closure of several motor companies. Thus, led to higher rates of unemployment. The banking act established earlier reduced the recession effect. The act created a countrywide structure of deposit coverage run by the federal deposit insurance corporation. Inflation dominated because of President Lyndon Johnson’s poor decision to fight an economic war rather than the Vietnam War. Increase in inflation made major stakeholders to face difficulty in distributing interest rates and selling long-term investments such as houses, cars, among other things (Krippner 64).

President Reagan policy was to cut on the government spending and thus reduce the cash flowing in the economy. The policy meant that the inflation rates would drop and better living standards for the citizen would be achieved. This led to reduced unemployment by up to 7.5 % as opposed to the earlier 7.8%. Reagan’s theory seemed to cause a spur in the religious people who were against the policy. Reagan policy lowered poverty levels and thus many people opted for it. Nixon & Ford-détente was used the late 60s to mean a situation where there is no tension.

The ‘Reagan evil speech’ was first noticed when he said he would charge the sovereign union like an evil empire (Hyser & Armdt 526). People did not realize that Reagan was an anticommunist, unlike his rivals. He knew that communism would raise income disparities and cause the poverty levels to rise. The center of attention was the cooperative policies agreed upon by Bush and Yeltsin, they agreed to cooperative ways of solving their differences apart from ranging war. After the 9/11tragedy, Bush administration did not want to let go of the war and adapt to the international criminal court.

He still persuaded the terrorist despite being fully aware of the devastations of the bombs. Obama is avenging war against the Al Qaeda cells in Pakistan. Though fully warned of the repercussions, he still wishes to add more soldiers in Pakistan bearing in mind it is the most dangerous terrorist zone. His goal was to secure pace for the American citizen by disbanding Al Qaeda groupings (Ruschmann & Brazil, 48).Works CitedHaussman, Melissa. Reproductive Rights And The State.
