Who are the villains of Roosevelt’s famous address? What political purpose does this serve? President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered his inaugural address at the period that witnessed one of the turning points in the history of American economy and politics. Consequences of the Great Depression and the aftermath of World War II which may be perceived largely through the hardly bearable economic struggles constitute the villains which the president chiefly gives reference to in his speech.
