Principally, freedom of participating in a various economic, social and political practices without direct manipulation and forceful control by government was brought by the spirit of the need by the populace to be left alone to discern what they want.
As an illustration, the American people who opposed the move by the government to intervene in the abolition policy felt that the government was intimidating them and interfering with their right to own slaves (352). Laissez-Faire is such processes as targeted by the living conditions of the population was defended by the sections of proponents of economic freedom established by social classes. Other areas of governmental interference opposed by the Laissez-Faire included labor relations proposed by the American Federation of Labor that required freedoms of determination of workers’ plight without government interventions (585). More specific economic freedoms infringed on by the governmental interference included charges for ranchers and loggers, which acted against their freedoms (594). Religious and political space was also realigned under the spirit of Laissez-Faire which demanded more freedoms of choice among the various followers of a particular belief (178).
It can concisely be said that the governmental interference involved economic revolution where transformations were experienced with regard to capitalism and property ownership (261). Political changes in the same era touched on the democratic revolution that culminated in 1844 where freedoms and rights enshrined in democratic societies were taking root in the American society (320).
