Extract of sample "Should Similar Systems of Free Enterprise Degenerate"

Should similar systems of free enterprise degenerate, would their most likely longer term outcomes be forms of transitional dictatorship of socialism Free enterprise is an economic system controlled mainly by individuals instead of the government. It is characterized by economic freedom, exchange that is voluntary and freedom of profit motive. Free enterprise can otherwise be defined as individualistic democracy, which means that it protects the rights of citizens by making laws that govern everyone and help maintain the social orders.

Therefore, free enterprise can be termed as the best political system any humankind would dream to have (Harrington 2). Countries that practice free enterprise system have the leading economic structure in the world and are said to be the wealthiest. It has been analyzed historically that nations tend to switch between powers and currently, the U.S has been seen to struggle between democrats and republicans (Harrington 2). When a government shifts towards socialism system, it takes all means of production and even the right of ownership from its people, either by forcing the people or taking the labor unions in their own possession.

This brings tension within the government on who has more power and who has the right to control critical aspects within the government. This encourages enmity within the individuals who have a lot because they may want to have even more than others. This then will mean few individuals will have the privilege of controlling almost everything. Therefore, this fighting will result into fascism as an outcome (Harrington 3). Fascism can be defined as a reaction of individuals. In socialism dictatorship, it seeks to purify the nation on foreign influences that are known to cause degeneration of the nation or to make the nation not to fit into its culture.

It promotes political violence. This then creates national regeneration and spirits. A socialist’s dictatorship believes in using military organizations so as to fight against opponents or to overcome a political system. To achieve its long term goal fascist state forces ideas people and systems thought to be the cause of degeneration. The fascist state is characterized by a supreme leader who exercises a dictatorship over the government and other state institutions. According to Mussolini, socialism dictatorship is revolutionary against liberalism, since he believes fascism wants to reduce the size of the state to its necessary functions (Harrington 4).

When a government is faced with socialism dictatorship, those who tried to speak up were threatened accordingly. This was well noticed in Trotsky. A military dictatorship is purely reinforced by the military machine, it disorients people, and they are forced to submit to it, making their feelings change, and they become rebellious against the dictatorship. Socialism dictatorship is a complete opposite of Marxian socialism. This can be well explained simply through the conflict of interests among various social groups.

The dictatorship believes in holiness and fame. In other words, it is action oriented with no economic motive, directly or indirectly. Socialism dictatorship, after socialism, combats the whole complex system of democratic ideology. It simply denies the concept of majority rule, by the simple fact that the majority can rule the human generation (Harrington 2). The concept of a liberal state in a socialism dictatorship state is that of merely a force limited to the function of recording results and in itself conscious and has the will and a personality.

Socialism dictatorship as a doctrine best represents the tendencies and aspirations of people; for example, people of Italy who are rising up after many centuries of foreign servitude. It reinforces the coordination of all forces and a deeply sense of duty and sacrifice. Fascism as an outcome of socialism dictatorship has been termed as a living faith, it is powerful in peoples mind and can be witnessed in those who have suffered and died for it (Harrington 2). A plan of a socialist dictatorship state can be characterized as follows: a supreme leader (few people rise and concentrate power), then it progresses, spreads over the state in large masses as supervises, and then removes potential rebelling issues amongst people.

Fascism in Europe started to progress within several countries at almost the same time – that is right after World War I – countries that were involved had a series of victorious revolution, but Russia was the only country where the leader could take everything within his power and was maintain a worker’s state. Despite all these, the leader was able to stop halfway due to his leadership mistakes and the power was taken by the military regime of dictatorship (Harrington 3). The success of socialist dictatorship comes as a result of people easily being forced to lose their perspective and what they believe in when they are led to forget the actual conditions which made the victory of fascism possible.

History dictates that fascism was only able to conquer in countries where the labor parties did not allow the leader to utilize the revolutionary and seize power (Harrington 2). Works Cited Harrington, Michael. Socialism, New York: Bantam publishers. 1972. Print.
