This background has made me be able to attain highly in my education, in sports and other extracurricular activities I engage in. It is this drive and motivation from my parents, and other relatives that has made me want to join medical school. I am highly interested in medicine and particularly neuroscience or the science of the brain. In order to get into medical school, I will need to complete a pre-health track course specifically in neuroscience.

My future goal is to help the children, as well as adults with hearing and speech impairment that is related to their brain. I want to be able to use the brain knowledge, to help these people have the ability to hear and talk. The fulfillment of this goal is dependent on my ability to join a good pre-medical program, such as the Neuroscience course offered in this university. With this background knowledge about the brain, I can be able to increase my knowledge for medical school. This course will grant me the opportunity to study and carry out research on human development.

I will be able to learn and understand the life span development of a human being, from the cognitive, emotional, social and psychological processes of a human being, all of which are linked to the brain. I will have the opportunity to access the latest research in this field, involving treatment and interventions as a way to improve the lives of human beings. The involvement in research will be a stepping-stone to my future career, which will involve a lot of research on the brain, as well as the human body in general.

I will need to have accumulated enough research techniques, to be able to carry out researches as well as interpret those done by others correctly. My current extracurricular activities have taught me the art of resilience, as well as courage, as a way to succeed and outdo the competitors. I am an outdoor person often engaging in outdoor adventures such as rock climbing, skating, riding motorcycles and playing sports like football. All these outdoor activities are risky and require calculations in advance as well as intense concentration.

The adrenaline rush is the reward I get from my adventures, hobbies, and it keeps me alert all the time. The fact that I am involved in such risky, extracurricular activities that demand ultimate concentration, is the reason that makes me believe I will be able to succeed in my future career. This career demands absolute concentration, and a mind that is alert at all times. Fear is intolerable and the rush of adrenaline boosts the motivation to succeed. Since I will be dealing with human beings in the future, skills in communication, empathy, as well as humanity is necessary.

I am currently involved in community service in several places in my area. It is through the community service, where I get to interact with the people that are vulnerable, and in need of assistance. I have been perfecting my communication skills particularly listening skills, which will come in handy later on in my future career. I am also a member of the jury in teen court. This position has boosted my critical and analytical skills, as well as increased my ability to be objective at all times.

The objectivity will be necessary when handling different patients, as a lack of it may lead to mistakes taking place. The critical and analytical skills will aid during my education, as well as when carrying out research. In future, these skills will be necessary when examining patients, and trying to make diagnosis, as well as deciding on the best course of treatment for each unique case. My interests in life lie in research, space exploration, physics as well as medicine. This is in addition to the hobbies mentioned above.

Because of these interests, I have often engaged in wide reading on different areas, as well as try to get as much information as I can to fulfill my interests. As my future is geared towards some of these interests, I am glad that I have information that would act as a guide, to what is expected of me, as well as give me confidence to succeed. I have also been interacting with many people particularly in the medical field, and they have been acting as my mentors and life coaches. In plan to continue, my interaction with them to ensure they guide me through the future journey in my career, act as my motivators as well as provide the knowledge base required in this course.
