Consumer Driven/ High Deductible Healthcare Plans Consumer Driven/High Deductible Healthcare Plan In handling the health sciences and medicine journal, we have settled on providing more insight on the consumer driven as well as high-deductible healthcare plans. Our team comprises of Alex Maxwell, Amy Church and I. To this point, I am convinced that all of us have demonstrated high level of seriousness and total commitment in ensuring that we make sense out of the two healthcare plans mentioned above.

Both Amy Church and Alex Maxwell were to research on high deductible healthcare plan, where we have so far established that it is a form, which involves the customer paying a higher deductible as compared to other insurance rates with low premiums (Herzlinger, 2004). Those who adopt such a plan take it upon themselves to cover minor healthcare expenses until such a time that annual deductible figure is met. Once this happens, the insurance firm caters for all their healthcare costs. In as much as any consumer can adopt this healthcare plan, it is highly regarded by those who would like to protect themselves from unforeseen illnesses at a lower cost.

Concerning consumer-driven healthcare plan, which I was to work on, we have established that it provides comprehensive health coverage while at the same time put the customer in charge (McDonough, 2007). As is always the case with other insurance firms, the consumer is expected to pay deductibles up to a certain figure. Similarly, they are expected to pay coinsurance once the deductible figure is met, though the coinsurance amount is somehow low. In certain instances, the patient is taken through various mechanisms of payment, which enables them to settle on the most suitable one.
