We tend to keep our surroundings neat, clean, and beautiful so that we can feel good about ourselves. All of these are examples of how the body interacts with the landscape.

The body also develops a relationship with the buildings. An individual thinks about going to a Spa when he/she is tired. Previous memories of the comfort derived from the massage and pedicure instill the desire in the individual to revisit the Spa to feel rejuvenated. Likewise, people who go to the gym develop an association with it. After doing the exercises regularly, their body gets so used to them that their stamina is increased. People do different sorts of exercises, build their muscles, shape up their bodies, and feel energetic when they go to the gym. Missing out the visit to the gym for a day does not cause any harm to the muscles, but the mind feels the negative effect of deprivation and the individual feels guilty for not having gone to the gym that day.
