29 September Response I disagree that hospitals cannot be evaluated in public sites.In fact, I think that public sites are very useful sources of information when it comes to collecting data about the performance of a certain hospital as there is rapid availability of respondents that have used the hospital’s services and can thus furnish information of value to the researchers. The elements of care the consumers value the most include the availability of staff including doctors and nurses, availability of all tools, equipments, and medicines to address the immediate needs of the patients, the convenience and user-friendliness of the system for the patients, and the quality of service provided by the hospitals.

I agree to the perception that if infections are occurring as a result of the routine procedures of the hospital, then the hospital staff is certainly compromising upon the health and safety of the patients and the quality of service is not up to the mark. This is what makes a hospital bad. In order to provide the patients with a high quality care, it is imperative that a hospital maintains cleanliness in the tools and equipments, so that they can be used to cure the patients’ diseases rather than aggravating them.

Hospitals can bring positive changes in the system by implementing proper system of quality control and quality assurance wherein the duties and responsibilities of the staff are clearly defined. This helps eradicate ambiguities and improves the accountability of work as everybody knows what his /her responsibilities are.
