? Advanced Healthcare Management Introduction: In the present times, any business organization gives significant importanceto leadership and values that enhance the performances of the organizations leading to improved outcomes. Considering this fact, the field of healthcare has also in the recent times been focusing on these aspects realizing the importance of leadership and values within the healthcare organizations. It has been observed that improved leadership leads to enhanced quality of healthcare that the organizations can provide to their customers. The seriousness of these aspects have been more taken concerned of in the recent times with the increasing complexities of healthcare organizations in relation to political, economic, social and technological contexts (Hartley & Benington, 2010, pp.3-4). The present study focuses on a literature review of the advanced healthcare management in the present times considering the factors of leadership and values in the field. Literature Review: Leadership and Values in the Field of Healthcare: Several researchers have conducted studies on the importance and effects of leadership and values in the field of healthcare. Few of the research studies have been considered for this literature review. As Garman & Lemak (2011, pp.1-2) discussed in their studies, the field of healthcare over the last decade reflected several advancements as far as leadership and values in the healthcare organizations are concerned. There are significant transformational changes that have occurred leading to the present system in the field. Leadership has been obtained as one of the major factors for achieving success in healthcare services. With leadership being effective, different developments in the system have been made possible focusing on how to achieve such goals (Garman and Lemak, 2011, pp.1-2). Along with the effectiveness of leadership, the processes and values that are followed within the healthcare system have also gained importance. It has been observed that in many cases the processes followed by the leaders lead to significant learning values for the organization and its employees as a whole. Since it is not easy or fast to achieve successful leadership, thus there are certain measures of preparation, experience and feedback that gradually develop the positive effects of leadership, hence effecting values in the system as well. With realization of the importance of leadership and values in healthcare, the present system and the future would focus more on the leadership models such that all available sources can be optimally used towards gain of competence (Garman and Lemak, 2011, pp.3-4). Browning, Torain & Patterson (2011, pp.3-4) discussed in their studies about leadership models and their importance in healthcare. With different changing reforms in the marketplace, the healthcare system has become significantly complex in the present times affecting both the structure and culture of the system. New partners are getting involving thereby bringing in changes in the systems of values and principles as well. The importance of leadership is thus relevant considering the need for the healthcare field to survive. Thus leaders, now, have the responsibility to develop such models of leadership that can bring together in collaboration the beliefs and values of different cultural systems in order to perform together towards achievement. Direction, alignment and commitment have been obtained to be the major concerns of today’s leaders in the field of healthcare (Browning, Torain & Patterson, 2011, pp.3-4). Browning, Torain & Patterson (2011, pp.4-13) mentioned in their studies that the major requirements for successful leadership and values in the present times in the field of healthcare include collaborative teams for the care of patients, supervisions of resources, transformation of talents, extension of boundaries, capacity of complexity, innovation and change, and engagement of the employees and their welfare. Studies reveal that the traditional values and beliefs need a change in the present times considering the need of the world to perform together in the field of healthcare. Such models of leadership are already in existence in many healthcare organizations and have proved to be effective either in the short or in the long run, and thus can be suggested for implementation in other organizations as well (Browning, Torain & Patterson, 2011, pp.4-13). Considering the developments in the leadership and value systems in healthcare, Stefl (2008, pp.362-372) in her studies mentioned about the healthcare leadership alliance model that involves the participation and associations of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), American College of Physician Executives (ACPE), American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and its education affiliate, the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). There are more than 1,00,000 professionals of management considering these associations together taking due concerns of the need for bringing change in the system of leadership and values in the field of healthcare. These organizations are focused on contributing commonly to the knowledge of management and leadership in healthcare performing collaboratively considering the continuous environmental changes in the system (Stefl, 2008, pp.362-372). Studies thus reveal that both leadership and values in the field of healthcare have been influenced and thus modified with changes occurring in the field and experience of the healthcare organizations over the years. Values are particularly associated with the healthcare services provided to the patients and their experience and welfare that are the responsibilities of the healthcare organizations. However the meaning of value might differ from individual to individual and also from the healthcare professionals to the patients and their families. For the patients or the consumers of the healthcare services, their interactions with the healthcare professionals, nurses and other responsible individuals reflect on the values that enhance their experiences with the healthcare organization. On the other hand, leaders in healthcare organizations focus on timely and effective services to be provided to the patients and their families, considering such effective services to prove the values for the organization. With such differences and issues in concern, changes are much needed in the system thereby focusing on the need for new leadership and value models for healthcare organizations. Thus values and leadership models are not only focused on eliminating the complexities in the system but they are more needed to focus on their experiences with their consumers that is most essential for the field of healthcare (Snowdon, 2012, pp.10-22). Conclusion: The above literature considered four scholarly studies that reflected on the growing need for changes in the leadership and value models that are being used in the healthcare organizations. This is essential considering both the changes that have been taking place in the healthcare industry and marketplace over the years, as well as the experiences of the consumers depending on their experiences with the healthcare organizations and healthcare professionals that take charge of their treatment and interactions occurring between them.
