Through strengths in time management, I have developed skills in balancing priority activities and fitting it into a well-defined schedule. These are strengths because my being aware of substances that could be misused or abused, insufficient knowledge could unsuspectingly turn individuals into substance abusers. Therefore, the increased knowledge and awareness provided by the course module, in conjunction with one’s personal philosophies and values to stay out of drugs have assisted in making me drug free.

These strengths could be replicated in the near future through assisting in providing appropriate advice on drugs and substances prone to abuse to my loved ones, friends, and acquaintances. Further, the knowledge and skills gained from this module could assist in identifying risk factors and propensities to drug use which would definitely help in prevention and intervention. I= Improvements: Discuss areas for personal improvement in regards to your results of this/these assessment (s) . Summarize an action plan to make these improvements.

Despite the strengths in awareness and knowledge that were abovementioned, there is always room for improvement, especially in terms of increasing the knowledge on more advanced topics on the subject of addiction and drug use. . I can therefore show areas for personal improvement in identifying, for instance, how much coffee could be safely consumed and what time and dosage of pain-relieving drugs are actually needed in safe levels. In this regard, one has set goals to enhance one’s knowledge on this area and to be firm in defining a behavioral change (avoiding soft drinks, or juices with too much sugar) towards improvement of health and well-being.

By learning how much cups of coffee could be safely taken per day, for instance, or the alternative food items to use instead of instant fruit juices, one could be more aware on the need to be more discerning of the ingredients and amounts of substances that are to be safely consumed. With more food items, substances and drugs that have different ingredients, I should make it a point to examine these ingredients more closely. By doing so, one would develop the habit of being more health conscious and therefore lead to a behavioral change.

I= Insights: Discuss any new things you learned about yourself after completing these assessments? Light bulbs that have gone off? New “ah ha” moments generated by these assessment results. How might this insight motivate you to make a healthy behavior change? The new things learned after completing these assessments are the information revealed from taking the Drug IQ test. The “ah ha” moments include learning that the most abused drugs in the U.S. are alcohol and nicotine and that children are most influenced by drug use of parents more than any other type of influence.

In this regard, this insights have motivated me to learn more on substances (nicotine and alcohol, more than others) to assist in preventing the risk of developing any addictions from them. Also, assisting children
