wenty-First Century” is a unique one, which explores the role of various media such as news, television and other mass media and defines their viewpoint on ‘post-racial’ aspect by representing the politics and society of American culture. Moreover, the author of the book endeavored to explore the view of varied disciplines including sociology, political science, communication and cultural studies with the aim of ascertaining superior strategic framework of ‘post-racial America’. Specially mentioning, the book not only investigated about the notion of ‘post-racial America’, but also advocated the manner in which the twenty-first century media showcased and presented the viewpoints on varied important topics.

These topics generally included the US history, statistics about employment, developed interpersonal relationships prevailed within the nation and other identity categories (Squires, 2014). The author of the above stated book Catherine R. Squires is associated with the University of Minnesota. She possesses a Ph.D degree in communication studies from North-western University (University of Minnesota, 2012). The book outlines the view of Squires on the specific topic of the ‘post-racial America’ and role of media as well as race.

According to the author, the circumstance of ‘post-racial America’ denoted that the US highly opposes the racial approach. The rationale behind writing the book can be stated as ascertaining the beliefs of the people about the nation to become ‘post-racial America’ during the tenure of the US President Barack Obama. In this regard, the author Squires tried to advocate different prospective and the mystiques behind the American societal environment in the current scenario (Squires, 2014).
