Number Due South Africa is a country in the continent of Africa, located to the south tip as its suggests. Colonized by the Dutch in 1994, South Africa has nine provinces bordered to the north: Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe the east: Mozambique and Swaziland while coined is Lesotho in the territory of South Africa. A multi ethnic community with diverse cultures and languages the country has eleven official languages. The black African ancestry comprise of 79.5% of the country population with the country accommodating the largest European, Asian and other racial mixed origins in Africa (Rosmarin & Rissik 2004).

The country enjoys a mixed economy drawn on its agriculturally fertile lands, mineral resources and tourist attractions. Though there is political and economic stability the country is faced with drawbacks: ethnic animosities, increased rates of crime and the AIDS pandemic (OECD 2008). A development plan is vital for the economic development of South Africa and even resource distribution. South Africa development plan In an attempt to create jobs and build a unified South Africa, the government has drawn up informed policies, budgets and influential programmes to ensure that in days to come it will be recognized globally.

This will go on hand in serving all citizens. Indeed, South Africa has the relevant economic and social resources imperative for the realization of all the demands of industrialization (Bond 2002). Though seemingly prosperous, the social evils evidenced in the country are normally impediments to the growth and success of the nation. Without doubt, much of the success realized in the country is basically a function of the myriad resources realized in the country. “No political democracy can survive and flourish if the mass of our people remain in poverty, without land, without tangible prospects for a better life.

Attacking poverty and deprivation must therefore be the first priority of a democratic government” – The Reconstruction and Development Programme, 1994 The country should ensure that it expands opportunities by involving the communities in developments thus nurturing their capabilities, equiping people with skills and reducing poverty and in the event increasing their living standards. There are sacrifices made between the ethnic communities and the government that brings greater confidence and opportunities for stakeholders.

To stamp out unemployment, there should be effective leadership and social cohesion as key propellers in the country. Through employment, the people will be in a position to educate their children and manage a number of risks in life. This is by raising the exports, increasing the country productivity in terms of innovation, small business support through incubation and better policies. Improving Infrastructure Given any country that needs to grow, tremendous efforts should be made in infrastructural development: road, air, water network, housing facilities, water services, sanitation.

However, well planned infrastructural facilities and more standard developments should be put in place. Upgrading of the various informal settlements is crucial, overhaul of the rail network, freight corridor development to feasible standards, new construction companies to scoop coal and iron deposits in Waterberg, super standard road networks. Economically low- carbon change There should be a transition from natural resource use to sustainable means. South Africa needs to use its waters well in an attempt to emit lesser carbon compounds.

The country should put in place measures to be able to protect its soils, the wildlife and its waters which are important to the country in days to come. There should be a number of transformations in energy production that utilizes the waters of South Africa. Proper policies, institutions that are competent and education of the citizens is needed. An inclusive economy South Africa has to provide quality education and medical services to spur the rural communities to be able to participate in economic, social and political development.

As the apartheid pushed majority of the population to the rural areas where they are densely populated and who rely on agriculture, there should be education on better farming practices thereby empowering the citizens and proper food security measures (Abdi 2002). Beauracratic procedures should be broken for uniform resource distribution. The workforce that imparts knowledge should be competent and well trained. Quality Health Care The approaches to life, levels of nutrition, literacy, accidents and exercises need to be keenly analyzed. This is because good health is essential for a better life. This is by improved managerial standards. A better trained workforce, efficient maternal and infant care. The South Africa development plan will be useful to all the citizens of the country to help the country rise to global standards.
