The women outside the family play a striking role. Although there are women who are more educated than males, and even though there is an increase in the number of women pursuing profession, the workplace is still basically male dominated. There is an inverse relationship among the number of women in a field of work and the payment they receive for it. A few years before, mainly secretaries were men, but at present women occupy these designations too. Men, in a female dominated field, generally get promotion faster, whereas the contradictory is correct for women in male subjugated fields. “Members of the Women’s Council continue to work in their own agencies to promote the President’s commitment to women’s concerns. These things give women another message of insufficiency as it implies that their work is not as superior as that of a man, only because she was instinctive of the "wrong gender." One of the most honored women in the world today is Oprah Winfrey, and in 2006 she was ranked the 8th most powerful woman in the Fortune 500. The story of Oprah Winfrey is a perfect model of a successful woman entrepreneur” (Kalyan, 2007). Women who work full time like men, also do most of their  housework themselves and sometimes without any help from their partners or husbands, also known as "the second shift," like the usual present household tasks of food preparation, clean-up, washing and taking care of children. If a couple decides to have a family, it is most commonly the woman who has to sacrifice some part or whole of her profession to bring up the child. It is said for the woman to a back seat in her own career goals, if not permanently for a short span to bring up the kid and to start the family, where men do not have to make changes in their career. Between 2006 and 2011 there was increases in the rate of the women-owned businesses have grown which were 42.3% compared to the rate of 23.3 % for all the other business firms. Women-owned businesses showed growth in terms of increase in employment at the rate of 0.4% compared to 12.3% of all the other business organizations. Looking at sales an increase of 4.4% in women-owned businesses compared to 15.6 % of all business firms. Women have tried instilling and incorporating various innovative business skills, which have had major impact on the prosperity in service sector “Another indication that women are now the backbone of the economy is that 40% of working women are the chief wage earners within families. All of this says that these changes are not just transforming businesses but that it is profoundly affecting the economy as well” (Lee, 2011). In the past, women were much expected to do blue collar jobs mainly including of secretarial job or clerical jobs. However in the current day women are running hard and ahead of obtaining professional degrees in order to get entrée to be employed in professional post. An essential sign of women touching up the ladder is the rising association of women into superior level position. It can be established that the number of women increased in management and in other professional areas, considering other sectors few sectors, there was a decline in women’s labor. Thus, the decline in the jobs of lower level and rise in higher level jobs shows that women’s labor force increasing to the peak. The number of women in the labor force has been growing at a steady pace for many years now. In 2006, there had been 65.4 millions of women in the labor and by 2007, there was a rise to 65.7.during year 2008, there were 67 million who were professionalist, it was understood a total of 1.2% (Women’s Bureau). The Women’s Bureau has estimated some of the future projections about women in the labor force. In the opinion of the bureau it is estimated a growth rate of 75.9 million in the year compared to 65.4 in 2006. Conclusion: As per the attainment and progression where the women are through the years, the grown old idea of the glass ceiling has by now busted. Women play a leading position in the American employment force not only by contributing in vast numbers, but as well by their integration of pioneering commerce skills and thoughts that works jointly in order to make the financial system successful.
