Mission Control, This is Apollo I used one day to read the book Mission Control, This is Apollo, I read a half of itduring the morning hours and finished the rest of the pages during the nighttime, it was easy to complete reading the book in one day since it only has 128 pages. In addition, the book is designed for young readers and, for this reason, the author has used simple and understandable English is making the reader flow easily. The book was not boring at all; I enjoyed every bit of the book.
The book talks about the chronicles of Apollo’s mission to the moon, and the book has some interesting facts. The author chooses to highlight the interest for space and the moon, the determination that took these men to get to the moon, and the hazardous jobs that the astronauts had to their destination. The book also has pages all over concerning the concrete side of space journey from heading to the bathroom to modifying to zero gravity, the book also discusses the reason as to why astronauts got detained in quarantine and most importantly the captivating pieces that made this unreal practice particularly for the people that were not born when this activity was taking place.
The author makes abundant usage of one page sidebars to extra talk about topics such as the assortment of the major astronauts, the procedures of Mission Control; the space sickness that entails such as the explanation for lightness is dropping and the enthusiasm of the first live TV transmission from the Moon. The book is so inspiring in the fact that young readers as well as adults who are curious are likely to learn, in a perplexing detail wide-ranging with photos on how the Apollo astronauts headed to the bathroom in the moon and then pressed their faces with a disinfectant.
If I had the chance to go the moon just like the Apollo astronauts, I would also try to feel the experience of the bathroom just to feel how different the space is from the common earth. This is such a captivating book, and I would pay for anything between $30 and $50.the book has taught me a lot of things that I didn’t not know about space and about astronomy in large. I have come to understand that there are a lot of challenges that an astronaut faces in the process of exploring the space, some f which are more psychological challenges than physical ones, this probably explain the reason as to why there are few or no women who have gone to space.
The book helps the reader understand the aspect of good relationships with other people as the author provides background information on the delicate understanding of compound decisions made by people and social emotions at essential situations and as a wide-ranging viewpoint as the Apollo tasks moved progressively to their objectives, the book is so informative to a critical young reader. The book, the author, and the Apollo astronauts, have been so inspiring and for this reason I will do more research in the field of astronomy.
