Full Mapping Professional and Financial Goals Finance is one of the aspects in human life which an individual usually finds trouble managing thus it now becomes a necessity to learn from experts and become knowledgeable and able in the area, if not an expert. Personal Financial Planning is a helpful tool in the empowerment for my objectives not only for my self, as an individual but also in the career path I plan to take, affecting and helping other people in the process. Tested information based from experiences of successful businessmen as well as researches of experts of the subject matter are anticipated to be discussed in this course so I believe much learning will take place here. I foresee a well-informed student with clearer visions and more detailed plans to emerge from this undertaking as I see it to be a great opportunity for me to widen my understanding about finances and its management. Being young, I cannot boast of any significant savings but just some amount which can easily be exhausted with the needs of a foreign student and the wants of a bachelor. I could say that I am generally on the average level when it comes to finances, able to get money just enough for my daily expenses. The support of my family basically is bringing all the money that I need so I really have to manage it as wisely as best I can. I do not live a luxurious life nor live in poverty. I could say I am blessed to have the support of my country as well for my education for it is indeed expensive to study at a prestigious school in the United States. Five years from now, I envision myself to be working at a successful and respectable company in my country where I can employ all that I have learned in my Accounting degree, the information and skills I will be acquiring in Master of Business Administration in general and further studies I plan to undertake. With what I can offer the company, it is also my aim to learn as much as I can, the principles and techniques they are adopting to foster the success of the business. I believe that theories are easy to put in one’s head however, the understanding of which is tested when they are put into practice. This then is an encouragement and a reminder for me to learn as much as I can from my predecessors and supervisors and to be very observant so that lessons unspoken will also be employed. In addition to my education, I plan to strengthen my eligibility for promotion within the next five years working hard for my employer and do my best to be an asset to the company rather than a liability. I believe that with my enthusiasm and confidence in the quality of my education, I am more than able to perform as an individual and am also able to work with a team with similar visions for the betterment of our personal lives as well as the lives of those we serve. While I am working, I plan to save as much as I can, maximizing it to fifty percent of my salary in preparation for the acquisition of a house and lot as well as other important materials like cars. Whatever amount I will be earning, I will do my best to budget wisely, buying only the things that I basically need. Should there be some extra amount from my savings, then that could probably be used for me to congratulate and pamper myself for some time. Finding a woman to marry should not be a priority for me for the next five years because I see this period as my preparation for a family that is well-established emotionally and financially. Ten years from now, I should be a Chief Executive Officer in the same reputable company or in another one that is larger in scope and more successful. As mentioned earlier, I should work hard for this promotion so that in ten years, I will be in the position mentioned earlier. This is an objective which I believe is not difficult to attain for one who would have gained enough experience and the expertise on management not only in financial matters but also in dealing with a team and other people. By this time, I should have bought myself a house and should be driving my own car and start building a family. With additional expenses, I should be decisive in managing all my affairs, aiming to save forty to fifty percent of my salary in preparation for my own company. Fifteen years from now, I should be all set, financially and professionally equipped to start my own business. From the wisdom gained in schools, supervisors and colleagues, I believe that at this time, I would be all ready to set my sails high. I should have money enough to start the business and enough in reserve to fall back on in preparation to whatever might happen in the business. As mentioned earlier, theories are easier said than done so I am also considering the possibility of failure especially so that I will be running my own company and be hiring people whom I have not worked beforehand. I understand that there are many factors that I have to consider in the establishment of a company, the demands of a manager’s time and efforts, coupled by the demands of a growing family. I know that hiring the best people and having the best experience and education may be great factors in the success of a business establishment yet, it is also a fact that they do not serve as assurances that they will make the business successful. During this period, I expect to be sending my children and I like to send them to good schools where they can be taught by the best teachers. I am a believer of education so I like the best one for my future children, empowering them to become good citizens, able to support themselves and our country with their loyalty and hard work. I should have at least two cars by this time, one for my personal use and another for my wife and children to take them to places they like to visit and to the schools of the children. I always appreciate women who stay at home, giving full assistance to the husband and children so I should also be fully able by this time to provide for all the needs of my wife, giving her the luxury she deserves. I should hire helpers to assist her in the household chores as well as the care of the children. I should be able to put money in her hands for her personal use and the needs of the children, sufficiently enough for her to be satisfied concentrating in raising the children herself. With the prospect of starting a business in fifteen years, I should have separate savings for my family members by this time enough to support them in the next five years, giving me ample time to establish the business. I should also have my separate savings in addition to the ones I saved up for the company, for my personal needs and travels to acquire more experience and education for the new company, should the need arises. Travel though, might be a necessity in establishing a new business to get in touch with partners and prospective clients so this becomes a priority as well in saving up. Whatever happens, I know success begins with a dream so along with my big dreams I draft my course of plan. Read More
