...The Rise and Fall of McCarthyism Joe McCarthy was a conservative Republican from Wisconsin who became known for his staunch anti-communist crusade during the early 1950s. McCarthy was schooled in law and a veteran of World War II when he was elected to the US Senate in 1947. Within 3 years he gave his infamous speech proclaiming that the US government was infested with communist spies at the highest levels. His fierce contentions included his often cited quote where he announces, “I have here in my hand a list of 205 [. . .] members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping policy in the State Department” (Dimkova, 2001, p.7). McCarthy further contended that radio, television, the media... Rise and Fall of...

It is in this direction that Keegan has come up with the issues of emotion and emergence, describing them as the fourth dimension to be added to the traditional conceptualization of what research is all about. Because learning is a continuous process, it is just appropriate that this claim is carefully scrutinized to see its place in modern day academia. This is exactly what this essay seeks to do. Both fiction and nonfiction works abound to underscore the importance of environmental conservation as is exemplified by Sarah Orne Jewett’s A White Heron and Susan McGrath’s Feature: the Last Great Wilderness, respectively. Part I: A White Heron One of the advantages that come with the use of fiction to advance the cause of environmental protection is the ability to capture interests and attention of the audience. ... Globalization: Transforming the World. The concept of ‘Globalization’ is very much a part of contemporary vocabulary and connotes “increased interconnectedness in political, economic and cultural matters across the world” (Michael, 3). Interconnectedness is the integral characteristic of globalization. There are three approaches to globalization: hyperglobalist, sceptic, and transformationalist. I believe that the transformationnalist approach best defines the concept of globalization. The hyperglobalist school asserts that “the disciplines of the global marketplace” (Michael, 4) exert undisputed control over global politics. While it is true that MNEs and IGOs are playing an exponentially increasing role globally, it cannot... Globalization...

In 1992 Badaracco discussed four aspects of ethics for those in the workplace: that is personal ethics; ethics as economic agents ; ethics as leaders and ethical commitment to wider society. More recently McDonald (2010) described how a person’s culture and context affected their attitudes to such things as ethics and morality. If that is so it also means differences in culture will mean differences in the ethical codes followed. To take one example ethical concepts in Kuwait may well be different from ideas on the topic held within the United Kingdom. The practice of ethics will also depends... ALOTHMAN...

The listening process was difficult to understand and capture all the information communicated to me in the process of the conversation. Therefore, majority of individuals do not understand the message that is passed to them through the process of communication. We tend to listen more by the eyes rather than the ears. This is the main reason why listening becomes a problem to a majority of people across the globe (Andrew, 2011).
