s Computerized Accounting Fraudulent accounting activities have drawn a lot of concernsin various organizations and society in general. In fact, many scholars, sociologist, and professionals have raised varying concerns over different aspects of fraudulent employee activities and boundaries that exist between entrepreneurialism, organization-based scandals, corruption, rules, and other white collar crimes (Singleton and Singleton 298). As such, every company needs to stay on top and monitor the risks associated with fraudulent employee activities.

There are various procedures, though, that a company may adopt to reduce the chances of fraudulent employee activities. To begin with, a company can develop fraud risk indicators as part of their risk assessment for fraud by considering its controls and operation. A company may also develop strong internal control and corporate governance by ensuring effective code of conduct as well as good oversight of its board and audit committee (Singleton and Singleton 301). This could be achieved by segregation of significant roles and responsibilities to various employees.

According to Singleton and Singleton (300), a company can also hold fraud session awareness to educate employees about various fraudulent schemes, ways of detection, the risk involved, and how to evaluate and design the control systems. Additionally, a company may set up secret hotline to provide its customers and employees with an opportunity to report on any fraud without retaliation or fear from the victims. Moreover, a company may also prepare an investigative protocol to ensure that employees are aware of what to do and whom to contact in case there is an investigation of fraud allegations (Singleton and Singleton 299).

One of the significant steps I would make after detecting fraudulent act in my company’s accounting system is to gather more evidence to support the case through a thorough investigation before making an accusation to avoid confrontation without clear evidence. I would also personally confront the employees involved and discuss with them good organizational behaviors and the dangers of such fraudulent activities. In addition, I would investigate the number of employees or people involved in the fraudulent activity in order to determine whether the act was a collective issue or a personal agenda.

This would ensure more comprehensive handling of the issue. Another significant step that I would resort to would be to report the victims to the appropriate authorities to ensure that professional code of ethics and conduct are followed by everyone in the organization.Works CitedSingleton, Tommie, and Singleton Aaron.
