?I have always thought of the popular saying that “money runs the world”, and my take has been that if indeed this is true, then accountants and other financial experts run the world since they are the ones who handle money on behalf of people and organizations. The importance with which people hold financial issues confirms this saying given that proper financial accounting can be the difference between failure and success for both individuals and business organizations. Consequently, finance and accounting is at the centre of many human undertakings, and this got me interested in fostering my career in this filed. This is considering that if I establish myself as a financial expert, business organizations will rely on me to create financial records of their transactions, financial flows, their process for wealth creation and indicate their financial position at a particular time, makes me appreciate the importance of a career in this field. This appreciation influenced me to select a career in this field as I will get to interact with other likeminded individuals and learn more on how to run the world through my practice in the financial sector. In addition to the importance of finance and accounting, the clear logic and advanced mathematics have been areas that fascinate me throughout my academic life. I enjoy not only the advanced mathematics and clear logic practiced in the economic analyses, but also the links that the field shares with social practices and interactions engaged in financial industry in the modern world. The course that cemented my interest in this field of study is International Economics and Trade, which raised in me a particular interest in macroeconomics. My desire to continue with my studies at a MBA level was further stimulated by the lectures on Financial Hot Issues. I hope to keep on building my knowledge in these areas through the courses you offer in your esteemed university. Presently, I am on my final year of studies, where I am taking International Economics and Trade at the University. This course has provided me with great understanding of the applications and principles of international economics and I believe that I am prepared to face the future complexities of the world economy. Additionally, during my undergraduate studies, I further developed an interest in accounting and finance. As I have done accounting and finance as part of my International Economics and Trade course, I find a Masters degree in these field a necessary addition to my knowledge of how business organizations handle their financial responsibilities. My desire is to learn finance not only as part of International Economics and Trade, but also as a field, that covers both international transactions and business practices within the country. MBA in financial related field will establish me as a financial and accounting expert both in international and domestic business. Therefore, I would like to increase my professional potential in Finance related field by pursuing Master studies at your University. Through the university website, I was excited to learn about the excellent Master programme that your university offers. I believe that the course structure will offer me a robust footing on the pertinent theoretical and quantitative skills to cultivate my personal capability, inventiveness, and other key skills that are sought after by future employers. These courses will give me an edge over others in the financial field since the courses and exposure that your institution offers its students have the ability to develop an expert who is competent in the field of practice. Besides, graduates from your institution can use the acquired knowledge and skills to handle not only the areas that one has studied, but also emergent issues in the financial sector to solve financial problems that business organization experience. Furthermore, MBA in finance from your university will afford me a valuable understanding of the western approach to economics, which is treasured by Chinese proprietors who are keen to apply concepts that have made some business organizations in Britain and western countries very successful. My wish is that once I will be through with my program, I will exploit skill such as problem solving, quantitative, and decision-making in this field. Moreover, the master’s degree will adequately prepare me for a career in any finance-related job in China. My wish is that I will be able to transfer the knowledge and skills your institution offers to my country through the business organizations that I will get the chance to work in. Over the course of my studies, my philosophy has always been to get the most out of the opportunities that life grants me. For this reason, I have always worked towards getting best results through both hard work and working smart. All these are evident in my academic life through various recognitions that I have earned. For example, my general GPA is among the top 10 percentage in a class of approximately 150 students. In Monetary and Banking class, I was positioned amongst among the best students in subjects such as International Trade, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics. In addition to these recognitions, my propensity for mathematical calculations and reasoning allows me to learn fast the fundamental economic principles with minimum effort. My other strength that makes me to excel in this field is the probing and critical thinking mind developed over the period of undergraduate studies that makes me to question economic principles and truths, while at the same time looking for objectivity in the inquiry. In addition, my leisure time is dedicated to the enjoyment of activities that broaden my vision and knowledge on the field. It is these practice that set the stage for me to continue offering my best in my study and which will be translated later on into my professional life. Concerning languages, I have recognized the importance of having linguistic skills necessary for communicating in other languages that have a global appeal. To this end, I have taken my English studies very seriously and my recent IELTS grades designate that my English language communication, listening, and writing and reading skills have greatly developed. I not only rely on the courses offered in my institution, but also go an extra mile to achieve greater language proficiency. In order to achieve this, I am constantly trying to advance my English language abilities by taking private classes in English, and through these personalized learning strategies employed in these lessons, I am able to learn a lot in a short period. The results of my efforts and determination will be reflected on the IELTS exam that is due in November and will be an important morale booster about the level of my English. I also read a lot of literature written in English be it in finance or any other field to enhance my proficiency in the language. Consequently, my confidence level in English language speaking, listening, reading, and writing have been boosted because I can communicate effortlessly in the language. I am certain that given the chance to study in your institution, there will not be any issue arising from language barrier, as I will have the necessary language skills that will enable me learn and interact with others both in campus and in other social avenues. I have also engaged in other activities both in school and outside to build my interpersonal skills so that I can know how to relate with people from different backgrounds. Such exposures I have gained range from my involvement in associations such as Photography and Travel Associations and Loving Care Charity Association. It is through such associations in school that I have learned important skills like leadership, teamwork, planning, and punctuality. I come from a town that is almost 2000 km from the university I study. Access higher education, I had to surmount many challenges due to the change in food type, culture, and even climate. This adaptive feature places me in a better position to overcome such challenges in the UK. Further, the independence that studying far away from home has accorded me helped in the development of survival instincts through devising of problem solving skills and time management abilities which have enable me get a job while at the same time continue with my studies smoothly. I like reading in my spare time to be well versed in other areas especially those related to my specialty. To get current knowledge and discoveries in my area of specialty, I visit the library in both my school and the nearby local one so that I can take maximum advantage of the available reading materials. To ensure that I balance my theoretical knowledge with practical aspects, I also take every opportunity to feel the real economic life. I like developing different business models that my friends and I practice to find out if they will work or not. For example in the early years of my university education, I noticed a market gap in our institution when new students report for registration. To prove this gap existed, my two classmates and I bought over 90 plastic products from a large wholesale market that is 3-hour distance away from our school. On the day that the freshmen enter college, we marketed the products by going to every room allocated to the new students. We explained to the new students why they needed to buy our products and demonstrated the benefits they were to gain if they bought from us. Our communication skills coupled with our warm, was instrumental in enabling us sell all the products inside half a day. Through this undertaking, I have not only built good relationships with new students, but also gained a useful insight into customer relations and the retail business in general. I have not only concentrated in my academic life through my class work, but also in other areas like research work. I recently got involved in a research in a research based on middle and small enterprise financing. The aim for this research was to determine the role of private financing as a possible alternative to general financing methods for middle and small enterprises. As part of the research, we sampled a company called FEIYUE Group due to the financial woes that had forced its managers to declare bankruptcy because of its lack in capital chain in June 2008. The company had many challenges paying its creditors since in order to tighten monetary policies. One of the difficulties facing the company was the demand from the bank that had given it credit that the company pays off its loan in advance. Additionally, the company had to cover a large amount of private debt it had incurred over the course of its operations. We studied how the company was able to handle its debts owed to both the bank and private financiers. The findings from the research revealed that private financing, as a profitable supplement to general financing method, is becoming more and more important to many middle and small enterprises that turn to such method as the most viable option in financing their operations. The reason why middle and small enterprises prefer private financing according to the findings of the research was flexibility and variety in operation. This financing option was found to have fewer regulations due to the removal of bureaucracy and the terms of payment can be arrived at through negotiations. However, the study also found private financing manifested certain amount of risk due to the luck of specific rules and its tendency to attract high interest rates on loans. To overcome this risk, the study recommended laws and policies that would regulate how private financiers and business organizations enter into contracts to protect the interests of both the debtor and the creditor. In its conclusion, the study highlighted the role that regulated private financing strategies can play in helping cash strapped middle and small business enterprises remain in operation, while at the same time fulfilling their obligations towards creditors. This research undertaking added both depth and breadth to my knowledge of financial area. I was able to gain hands on experience on how business operate in tough financial times and how to bring a business out of a financial crises through both monetary and fiscal policies. In conclusion, presented with an opportunity to undertake my masers at your institution, I will do my best to live up to the expected standards through my hard work and the passion I have to study finance. I recognize that I have the right amount of attitude and thirst for knowledge, which are the necessary ingredients for successful students. I would be grateful for your kind consideration of my application, and I look forward to hearing from you soon, thanks. Read More
