The paper “Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions by Effective Utilising Cold Energy from Liquefied Natural Gas” is an affecting variant of the literature review on environmental studies. Yang, & Jackson, (2012) states that Global climate change is inextricably linked with the enhanced build-up of greenhouse gasses. The emissions trading in the form of carbon credits or CERs is opening up new vista trade opportunities with the aim of gradual reduction of emissions more especially by the developed nations.

Controlling the emission of carbon dioxide, sulfur oxide among others has been a big challenging issue to environmentalist and both the government and environmentalist need to be worried about (Harvey 2013). In order to tackle the above problem, a technology that utilizes the cold energy of by-products that are produced from the oil refinery and the cryogenic energy of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with an aim of energy conservation and emission of carbon dioxide reduction. As per the LNG encyclopedia, there were about 52 LNG receiving stations with a total trade of 14.33 billion tons. In the process of utilization, an enormous amount of cold energy will be released (Yang, & Jackson 2012). Therefore, several countries have taken great attention t that so that they can make full use of this precious resource of LNG cold energy status and the prospect.

Hainan LNG, cold energy utilization project, is in charge of CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited. ("CNOOC", for short in the following.) In 2010, January, it has completed the feasibility report of the Hainan LNG cold energy utilization project, containing two projects that are both in Hainan LNG station: air separation project and rubber powder project. The air separation will be the first choice when it comes to LNG cold energy utilization. LNG is a super little liquid gas with a boiling point of about -162oC and has a capacity of about 840 KJ/Kg, 270 kg/t 240kw/t available, this shows that LNG contains a large amount of cold energy (Cui, & Li 2015). LNG gives sustainable energy that can be used for an extended period and prevent carbon emission.

Electrical Power from Nuclear Source: Ecological Challenges and Economic Benefits

The power generation system is only the transformation of energy from one form to another.... However, mostly electrical energy is generated by the utilization of the mechanical energy, which is attained by the thermal energy from coal or other fossil fuel materials, geothermal energy, nuclear thermal energy or solar thermal energy and sometimes directly from the mechanical sources like hydrodynamic energy, wind energy, tidal energy.... The attained thermal energy is then allowed to change the state of the water from liquid to gas, which then runs the turbine of the electrical power generator....

The Possible Use of Ethanol as a Replacement for Petrol

The market for bio-fuels such as ethanol is driven by the need for security of the energy supply and the recognition that greenhouse gas emissions are causing global warming,” said Margaret Beckett, environment secretary (Harvey, 2005).... from the economic point of view, it is thought to be good for the development of disadvantaged rural areas by promoting agriculture and manufacturing industries which creates jobs.... Ethanol has been promoted because it has a positive net energy balance that means that the energy contained in a tonne of ethanol is greater than the energy required to produce...
