The same principle applies to wind and water where the energy can be converted into another form of energy to become useful.
b. Nuclear energy – nuclear energy derives its energy from the fission of atoms. It is a cheap and reliable source of energy. The downside of nuclear energy are its wastes which are extremely toxic and could last for a very long time. The possibility of a plant accident could also render the environment radiated and in effect harmful such as the case of Chernobyl and more recently Fukushima (Mackenzie, 20144).
c. Solar energy – solar energy is an energy source taken from the sun through the solar panels and then converted into useful energy. This source of energy is renewable, infinite, clean and free. The downside of solar energy is that it is not cheap to install solar panels and the mechanism to convert it to useful energy.
d. Wind power – is an energy sourced from the wind through windmills. This energy is renewable, clean and infinite. Again, its downside is that it is expensive to set up wind mills and convert it to electricity.
Usually comes in the forms of turbines put in a dam. This is a clean source of energy and renewable. It is however limited only to areas where there are strong current of waters enough to turn a turbine.
Is an energy source from live organisms that is converted into an energy such as animal waste turned into an energy source. This energy source does not emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. It is however not a reliable source of energy on a large scale because it needs a lot of waste and organic materials to create energy.

Energy Efficiency Standards

...it is very difficult to find and compare two same types of standards in different countries. The construction techniques used by the native people of a country can be totally different from other country, moreover the construction laws and guidelines also varies with different political systems. The effect of the existing standards in different countries can be measured by considering the above mentioned parameters and the prevailing conditions. The information collected needs to be regularized prior to comparison. 3. International Standards Various international organizations are giving due attention to the subject of energy efficiency and are striving...

Energy Conservation Research Paper

...). The various appliances and gizmos that technology has developed for improving and facilitating the living standard of the masses are key linkages that dictate the energy consumption in the contemporary times. Waste management Effective waste management is one of the most crucial paradigms of energy conservation. Indeed, reduced consumption must be accompanied by increasing use of recycled goods like paper, glass etc. Development of effective waste disposal system for harmful chemical effluents and encouraging carbon footprints to reduce energy conservation needs to be inculcated within the people at large. Sustainable development It...

Energy Transfer and Thermodynamics

...Question Laws of thermodynamics: Zeroth law: This is a law of thermodynamics that s that thermo equilibrium of a system is achieved only whenthe temperature of the system does not change over time. This law also states that given two systems that are at thermo equilibrium with another system then both of them are at thermo equilibrium with each other. First law The first law states that energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be changed from one form of energy into another form of energy, there are a number of form of energy such...

...that contribute to or are affected by the problem Who is affected by this problem of energy efficiency There are both living and nonliving factors to take into account here. First, the living factors include the people of the world, who are all affected by, and also use, energy. Nonliving entities that are affected by this are mainly the corporations and companies that use energy. Some explanation about the history of this problem is needed to explain this issue..The concept of energy conservation is not a new one, and it has been on the table for some time. However, it has...

Energy Transfer and Thermodynamics

...FV1201 Energy Transfer and Thermodynamics. Assignment INSTRUCTIONS: Please answer all 25 questions, showing workings out where appropriate Define the four laws of thermodynamics using words, diagrams and equations where appropriate. (8 marks) The Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics is an extension of the principle of thermal equilibrium. It states that two systems in thermal equilibrium with a third system are in equilibrium with each other. In other words, if T1, T2, and T3 are the temperatures of three systems, with T1 = T3 and T2 = T3, then T1 = T2. The First Law of...

Energy

...Energy Energy The worst problem we are facing now is the energy crisis. Most of the energy sources we are exploiting now are of nonrenewable nature.Energy sources in the universe can be basically classified in to two broad categories; renewable and nonrenewable. Renewable energy such as solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy or hydroelectric power etc will never be exhausted whereas nonrenewable energy sources such as oil energy, natural gas, coal, nuclear energy, geothermal energy etc will be exhausted once. This paper...

Energy

...Task Energy plays a central role in development. Wind energy is a natural renewable form of energy harnessed to other forms such as electric energy and potential energy. Harnessing of energy is expensive; strict scrutiny needs to establish the cost benefit range. In a small town of Kaplanville of 25,000 people in the US, with the mayor as an instructor, decision to produce wind energy would depend on many factors such as the strength of wing and frequency of the wind. Several advantages are associated with wind energy. To start with, wind energy is a...

Energy

...Energy The types of energy, the use of energy and insufficient access to energy have far-reaching implications for the economic development of a city. The burning of the hydrocarbon has been a key contributor of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming. In cities where sustainable energy and climate action plan are implemented reduce their vulnerability to energy scarcity and to energy price rises. Cities should specifically consider the needs of users first. The users also should ensure that they reduce their demand on the energy resources. This means that it...

...energy. I conserve energy in the following ways: 1. I use energy saver bulbs at home instead of tube lights for most of the time. 2. I put off electrical appliances, like computer, television, and microwave, instead of putting them on standby mode. If I lower down the thermostat by two degrees in winters, and make it go up by two degrees in summers, I will be able to save nearly 2,000 lbs of carbon emissions. Not only that, I will also be able to give a boost to my savings up to around $100 a year. 3. I have purchased such a car that gives more mileage on less gas. Conclusion Energy, in all its forms, is a blessing. It all depends...
