It can be viewed in the Environmental Stewardship Degree that I would need the Wildlife Corridor Technician Certificates (regular and advanced) + ESCI 21- Biodiversity 2 + a minimum of five (5) units from the list of ES 1, ES 2, ES 3, ES 6, ES 55, ES 56, ES 61A, ES 86, ES 90 all of which have four (4) units per subject, and ES 63, ES 68, ES 80 all of which have one (1) unit per subject. Included in the list of alternatives is ES 85A which has two (2) units. On top of the Wildlife Certificates of Achievements, all the General Education (GE) requirements (31-42 quarter units) will have to be earned with a minimum of 2.
0 GPA which is the equivalent of “C” average. It will take more than 5 pages to elaborate on a career plan. This is just a beginning. In the many options listed by McClelland, Carol (2008, p. 3), the work that will be available for me by the time internship stage is reached would be under the category of Environmental Management and Services, which could be one of the following: Air Quality Control, Emissions, Compliance, Trading, Water Treatment, Water Conservation, Wastewater Treatment, Water Management, Land Conservation, Remediation, Land Use, Land Trust Management, Land Restoration, Soil analysis Conservation, Ecological Restoration, Waste Management, Waste Collection, Waste Transportation Waste Processing, Waste Diversion Recycling, or Nuclear Atmosphere/ Air.
My mission would be to initially become supportive to a higher organizational mission statement of that company which will facilitate and pay for my internship. This should be about service for the community environment. Once experienced, my mission should be to participate in solving environmental problems involving the conservation, preservation, restoration or rehabilitation, and development of a sustainable biological ecosystem. In the medium term, about 5 years later, my goals will be higher.
I will pursue higher education to add to my knowledge and skills and be more qualified for a managerial position. But in order to afford higher education, I should also earn more than the amount that a family will need to live a happy life. I therefore searched for possible jobs along my pre-planned career in order to see what the world has to offer and if the offer will be good enough. The first one I saw was in California at URS looking for a Wildlife Biologist as of June 6, 2012. But it had no disclosure of the compensation.
Another search showed the Natural Resources Defense Council looking for Wildlife Conservation Fellow, open until August 1, 2012. Since it still did not disclose the compensation, I went to where one can view the different job opportunities according to pay scale. A Conservation Fellow is offered $ 14.50-$15.50 an hour depending on experience. A qualified Conservation Law Enforcement Officer is offered $38,790 to $61,678 per year. The qualification is education. Thus, I may expect the bottom pay to begin with as intern at $ 14.
