The concept of ocean stewardship among the coastal communities has emerged instrumental in the move towards ocean conservations. Efforts to sensitize people around the globe about the need to conserve oceans as a global property have seen the release of the film, “Ocean Frontiers”. This paper explores the international issues featured in the film, industries involved in the activities of saving oceans and their programs, and the role of society/volunteers in the noble mission. International Issues in Movie The main international issue in the movie includes the growing concern in promoting sustainable use of ocean resources.

The documentary generally emphasizes on the need for people across the United States and the world at large to collaborate in the promotion of sustainability in the ocean resources. The film clearly illustrates the true meaning of sustainable ocean stewardship through the capturing of real examples of strategies implemented to ensure ocean conservation. The documentary features some of the coastal communities leading in the implementation of strategies and newly discovered methods in promoting sustainability (Meyer, 2011).

The entire film revolves around the concept of ocean management through new scientific techniques and the roles taken by people living the coastal areas in the ocean conservation. . Some of protected areas in this film include the Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve in the state of Oregon among other marine reserves. In addition, the film covers the general American coastal heritage evinced through features such as the Florida Keys, the Boston Harbor and the Mississippi delta (Meyer, 2011). The sceneries captured in this film depict some of the collaborative efforts put towards ensuring a sustainable ocean ecosystem Industries Involved the Initiative of Saving Oceans Green Fire Productions emerges as one of the key players in this activity owing to the role it has played in making the film available to viewers.

The company committed itself in filming numerous ocean resources and the effort made to conserve them in a move to sensitize the American public on the need to promote sustainability in the use of such resources. Generally, the movie illustrates the collaborative effort required from industries, fishermen, government agencies, researchers and conservationists in order to create a sustainable ocean ecosystem. Another industry involved in this activity includes the Massachusetts Port Authority which in collaboration with Rhode Island established a contingent plan to guide the port’s use of the ocean in a sustainable way (Meyer, 2011).

The plan enables the port to collaborate with other stakeholders in the ocean resources such as the community around and the government to ensure sustainable use of the ocean. Oregon’s fishing industry is also featured as the other key industry involved in the implementation of strategies to promote sustainability in the use of ocean resources.
