The Dispossessed by William Deresiewicz - Book Report/Review Example

The majority of American citizens are the working class who dominate in various fields such as acting movies and in participating in talk shows. In this essay, I will give a critical response to the article and assert my standpoint.It is true those working classes are active in both social and moneymaking activities and live in affluence and luxury. The author further gives an example about the former president of America, Bill Clinton who became the head of state from a working-class level (Williams).

The examples are given by William Deresiewicz consist of the whites and black personalities, highlighting the widespread nature of the predicament. In the essay, I agree with the author when he commented that the media has been against the working class, and their profiles have been flawed through televisions and other social means of communication in America. Most of the journalists are in the middle class, and they favor the individuals who are in their same class. In my opinion, it is true that the middle-class populace detests the working class and this is proven by how the journalists who are in the middle class present them in the society as people who are not concerned about their surroundings.
