Elo reflection I am a fun of very few motorsports. I have had a problem with racing too, but I admit I am perfect at spectating. Various attributes can be assigned to my passion but what stands out is my ability to identify with the sportsmen. As I view, the motorsport has for years realized that I develop a great connection with the sportsman. This in my opinion enables me for years enjoy the spectacular view that it offers. I particularly do not like racing, but I do enjoy spectating some of the motorsport events. To be specific, my love for the sportsmen’s courage has been my primary motivating factor for motorsport spectating. They endure a lot to ensure they progress to various stages of the competition. I usually feel thrilled on bench as I watch the motorists’ race their way to the finishing point. I have never particularly gotten the urge to participate actively in the event, but the few times I have in track spectating the experiences have been memorable. I enjoy motorcycle speedway as a motorsport. This is because I find it more exciting and a perfect way to spend my leisure time. It’s a hobby I developed because of my love for speed and the way the sport is conducted. In speedway motorcycles, there is the use of only one gear, and there is no use of brakes. Usually, racing occurs on a flat oval track comparing of dolomite or dirt, loosely packed shale. I like it because the competitors utilize this surface to slide their motor sideways, broad siding or power sliding into the bends. I find it most exciting that the machines reach a speed of even up to 70 miles per hour on straight segments of the track (Hamilton, 2011) . As for me the speed is thrilling enough and not too dangerous for the drivers. Ironically, in my view this is what I always look for and ensure I follow my best sports person to their finish line.
Comparing crossroads drag race with the other motor races that I attended in the past; I tend to like motorcycle speedway as a motorsport. It still stands to be my best motor run out of the others such as formula one and superbike racing. As much as formula one machine are the fastest racing cars in the globe they still do not match speedway in terms of the attention and spectators they draw. Formula One cars speed up to 220 miles per hour which I feel is an absolutely super high speed. It’s a bit dangerous for the participants though, as a confession, I don’t mind spectating the race. To the Friday night fun night experience was the first ever time to spectate the crossroads drag race. The entire night was kind of exciting.
I attended the event with a lot of anticipation of having an experience of a lifetime from what my friends had shared with me concerning the motor race. It was a while since I had attended any motorsport event and this further gave me more drive to visit the. Despite all this expectations, the event turned out to be short of my expectations since the machines did not match the speed I had expected (Hamilton, 2011) . Furthermore, I realized that the race has a lot of rules as compared to the other motor races I know of. These in my view make the only experienced drivers desire to run. The track rules kept most of my colleagues who were willing to participate out of the race. In my view, therefore, crossroads drag race still does not interest me so much. As a fact, I feel I share the same views with many of my colleagues. The sport still lacks a lot of guides, and this is a worrying factor since for a sport to be enjoyable at least it must have many guidelines especially for new participants. Another notable experience was the capacity of spectators who in my view are less attractive compared to many other motorsports I know of like motorcycle speedway. I concluded that this maybe could be due to the number of spectators presents (Hamilton, 2011).
My love for sports is unquestionable but when it comes to motorsports I must say I am not really an active participant, rather I am a spectator. This may be due to the motivation that I prefer cheering others up to the task than actively finding myself in the task. In the other games, I actively take part especially football. In addition, I am not a risk taker, and I fear the speed involved in motor sports. By this I do not mean I can’t compete, it’s just that the rate sets me off balance, and I may end up losing even when I ought to win.
Given a chance, I would be very reluctant to attend another event of the crossroads drag race especially because of how the spectators behaved during the event. I expected that there was going to be a high level of professionalism but to my amazement, there were all sorts of weird behavior from both the spectators and the racers. Some racers were abusive and aggressive towards the track officials though they were disqualified, but it was not a good show (Hamilton, 2011). The spectators, on the other hand, did not behave well since some started to fight their opponents especially when their racers lost the race.
With such behavior noted, I didn’t think more people could be enticed to join the drag strip since they will be discouraged by those who have the experience. I, therefore, may not create time to attend another of this event though others may have a different opinion opposed to mine. It is in order that everyone just judges the event from their stand. The goodness and badness may be subject to an individual’s opinion. In my view, the fans of this sport should learn to be humble. it is important to point out that various individuals react and enjoy various categories of motorsport. but dislike or like of sport depends on the motivation one has (Hamilton, 2011).
