Catelyn Stark and Cersei Lannister are also examples of the way women in the series show considerable strength to navigate their various families. Arya is also a major character as she shows she is strong enough to survive as a prisoner and then with the Hound and finally in Braavos (Game of Thrones). Her sister Sansa also grows up from a frightened and abused the girl at Joffrey’s hands to a cunning companion to Littlefinger. Even Melissandre is shown to be the real power behind Stannis Baratheon (Game of Thrones). From these examples, it is possible to see that the show can be viewed from two distinct points of view.
