And though for most people such realistic violence on the screen may seem excessive it is what makes this movie so persuasive, touching, and provoking and push viewers to thinking over one of the greatest narratives of the world again. “The passion of the Christ” is not only the greatest film about Jesus, though it shows only twelve last hours before the crucifixion, but also one of the most violent and shocking film of all times. Cruel atrocities and brutal ferocities are meant to demonstrate and give us at least some minimal understanding of the agony Jesus was passing through.

The main goal of Mr. Gibson’s film was to refresh the memory of a viewer, show him what he forgot reading a Bible. Moreover, he could make our humble imagination brighter. I would like to give tribute to the actor playing the main role, whose name is Jim Caviezel. He did an outstanding and amazing piece of work, playing sincerely and honestly. I also watched “The thin red line” by Terrence Malick and want to say that Mr. Caviezel, who played the lead a role there, is truly a talented and virtuous actor.

The camerawork in the film is also great and done by Caleb Deschanel. He collaborated with Mel Gibson earlier in the film “Patriot”, where Mr. Gibson played a lead role, I watched it and must say that cinematography in both films is of a high definition. Actor`s play makes “The passion of the Christ” look incredibly real, trustworthy and interesting to watch. Authenticity in this film is of the essence. All dialogues use Hebrew, Latin or Aramaic languages. Gibson did it on purpose and said about this: "I think its almost counterproductive to say some of these things in a modern language” (The Passion of the Christ, 2003).
