Logical Fallacies Demonstrate where you have experienced Logical Fallacies of some type in yourreal lives
We were recently watching television and a show was on about African-Americans committing violent crimes. A friend of mine said that violent crimes were committed by African-Americans while the white collar crimes were committed by the whites. This is not entirely the truth. Just because most of the prosecuted individuals of violent crimes were blacks and those for white collar crimes were white does not mean that they are the only or largest committers of those crimes. This was simply a bandwagon fallacy. The fallacy of Ad Hominem is common in our house whether it is a personal family discussion or even when watching movie or news. My sister is especially the loudest and the first to condemn the speaker instead of the news they are delivering. The deliverer of the news is vehemently attacked for the news and any negativity about the message is directed towards him or her and not the message itself.
Savannah Mason I totally agree with your examples especially about the ad hominem fallacy of the blacks and their crimes. People totally focus on the wrong thing and attack the blacks. They fail to look at the larger picture and instead bring in the issue of racism and generalize about blacks and their crimes and this is totally wrong.
Prabjyot Jhatu I agree with your explanation about people holding beliefs that are not true. I have also experienced the same issue with people believing that I am a bad person and am likely to become a security threat to them simply because I am a Muslim. I tell them it is just a religion like Christianity but they already have their beliefs which are not true at all. Read More

...?Number The examination of the effects of health educators in the self efficacy otherwise known as locus of control in teenagers would lead in a seemingly endless list. Before looking at the effects, it is perhaps important to look at what locus of control/ self efficacy entails. Anyone who wields self-efficacy in abundance will harbor a state of peace and calmness when handling situations or activities that are perceived as hard tempting and challenging. Such people will not succumb to peer pressure hence will be able to refrain from self destructive behavior such as irresponsible sexual activities or drug abuse. On the contrary, those with little or no self-efficacy have no control of tempting and hard situation and will hence... The...

...Due Discussion Board Posts Question Sensory and perception is, essentially, a process. Many people usethe terms perception and memory as if they are the same thing, however that is not the case. Perception and memory are, in fact, distinct terms with different definitions, all be it, they are “complementary” in purpose and process. Sensation can be defined as the taking in of the outside world and bringing it inside the body and sent to the brain. The brain then begins the process of organizing, sorting, and recognizing the information that has arrived. Then it interprets that information, this is perception; here the image, sound, or smell is determined to be “meaningful” or relevant information or not. This is...

...Backing-up data; responsibility of company or employee Topic: Wk03 Discussions Ernest Stevens December 16, 2007 6:53 PM Itis the responsibility of the employee to save her work regularly, so that if the PC goes down for any reason, her work is saved. It is simply part of the perceived responsibility of the worker. It is also the employee's responsibility to save her work in a location that is easy to remember. There are many tasks associated with the maintenance of files that don't have much to do with the actual creation of the file. Backing-up files is one of these tasks. However, the employee is not responsible for paying for the software tools she uses. That is clearly the responsibility of the employee. Backing-up...

...Discussion Salvation, the of the story by Langston Hughes, means the act of saving something or somebody and closely related to the etymology of this is the word salve, which means something that eases pain or anxiety. Ironically, the contraposition of salvation is what was narrated to us by the writer. While the act of saving should naturally ease anxiety, it is precisely this attitude of worry and nervousness that filled the Langston while he was in church to receive Christ. Aside from the overall tone of the narrative, this claim is very much supported by the author’s repetition of the word “waiting” which he directs to the presence of Christ. Aside from this, he also uses the word “come” recurrently to employ a sense...
