Value Added Tax in the Economic Crisis Value added tax was introduced by government to address the shortages of revenue that hindered government operations. It has provided huge percentage of revenue to finance government operations more than any other sectors in the economy. For example, the European Union has VAT receipts amounting to 7% of gross domestic product (Ramona, Ionut, & Cristian, 2011). Moreover, when comparing the total receipt of VAT in total tax Bulgaria has the largest ratio with a 35% of VAT receipts, and Italy having a minimum with 13% (Ramona, Ionut, & Cristian, 2011). Therefore, given that in times of economic crisis there is decreased tax revenue it became important to establish measures to resolve decreased revenues as a result of decline in profits, incomes, consumptions or increase in tax evasion (Ramona, Ionut, & Cristian, 2011).
VAT has also increased its relevancy to bridge the gap that government have in national debt. VAT is administered effectively and has enabled some country reduce their national debt without raising the direct taxes on capital and labor (Ramona, Ionut, & Cristian, 2011). Therefore, VAT has been a powerful tool that enables economies address the macroeconomic issue such as unemployment and investment without disrupting the operation of a country.
In conclusion, the government may increase or decrease the charge on VAT to address the economic crisis of the day rather than resulting to other measures to increase tax receipt. However, there are macroeconomic consequences with little severity compared to other alternative ways of raising revenue. VAT has become one the largest indirect tax and considered as a tax for the future. It is successful and does not burden one source only as it is shared among producers and users (Ramona, Ionut, & Cristian, 2011).

...Journal Entry I have been thinking about my studies so far with regard to the question of first language acquisition and I’m of the opinion that there is no conclusive evidence about how a child acquires his first language. We somehow end up speaking the language that our parents use so it is only logical to assume that they taught it to us. However, we cant remember being taught the tenses of verbs, possessive pronouns, or adjectives and adverbs. Yet, we somehow acquire the skill to use them at an early age. We werent taught these things; we acquired them through some other means. Our parents did not teach us to breathe or to swallow. We learned to walk on our own and we picked up speech without the aid...

A little girl, who appeared composed and with a focused intent, like an experienced manager with a crucial plan for an organization, approached me. She was almost formal as she offered a greeting and introduced herself as Jane. The most touching aspects of the encounter were the responsibility that the little girl was undertaking and her level of sincerity. According to her story, her mother who is a single parent is the sole breadwinner, though without a formal job, and has not been active because of her pregnancy condition. The mother delivered twins...

...Journal Entry: Point of View al Affiliation Journal Entry: Point of View Describe a recent experience when you did something with a friend or family member. But tell it from the point of view of the other person - or a pet. I have always wondered what my best friend is feeling. I could observe her always being up and about. When she wakes up she would usually pat me on my head and go through her daily chores. She would go to the kitchen and cook to serve breakfast for her children. She has six children, all boys. I knew them to be equally affectionate and cheerful. They would greet me every now and then. One of them, Matthew, would even put me on his bed when he watches...

... Lecturer’s Linguistic There is a growing concern among high school teachers about the effect of slang on the writingabilities. This has been noted where the students are having problems capitalizing and punctuating words. There are also those who have adopted the behavior of abbreviating words to one syllable. Spelling mistakes have been on the rise and teachers are blaming all this to social media and text messaging. ...Journal Entry Journal Entry Typical Approach to Negotiations before Taking this Before taking this my typical approach to negations was largely ineffective. Negotiation is a painstaking process through which people settle their differences, but in my case, I settled little differences, and won several arguments. I always thought I was on the right, and for us to reach a compromise, it had to be in my favor. In fact, I did not even engage in the process of negotiation. Conflicts and disagreements arise regularly owing to difference in beliefs and differing needs among people. Lack of negotiations resulted in resentment and unnecessary arguments that lasted for days. As a result, I lost meaningful friendships owing to barriers... Entry Journal...
