THE ROAD NOT TAKEN “The road not taken” The of the poem is centered on a person who plans to take a road that he failed to take another day, but suspects that he would vanish. PoetThe poet is seen as someone who is observant and one who takes time to analyze a situation before making a decision. He is uncertain of the future and cannot rush into making any confident decision. He wants to make a decision, which will make him not to regret about it in the future. He wants to make a permanent choice, highly impacting the rest of his lifetime.

SpeakerThe speaker made a choice, but was still unconvinced about it. He is seen as the one contemplating on the road to be taken. This makes the speaker the character and the poet. FormThe poem represents the innocence of a person and the loss in life, and choices that marks our lives. The roads symbolize the decisions that we make in our daily lives. It shows how such decisions result to different circumstances and situations. The poem identifies the dreams, plans, and hopes that we have in life.

It links our decisions to the future and their impact in our lives. ImageryThe author uses paths and the forest to represent the decisions that made in our daily lives. He also uses auditory imagery, especially when he sighs to represent the confusion. The imagery brings sense to the poem, as it would not be possible to determine that the narrator was uncertain about choosing a particular path. QuestionBoth of the paths were trodden, but the poet said that he “took the one less traveled by” did he lie to his audience?
