Solitary is my best way of learning, where I carry out a study on my own. Some prefer studying through social or group discussions among other styles.

The reflection matches with mine since I have the unique learning style that I also prefer most, in addition, I also combine other learning styles as mentioned above. Generally, I prefer the use of a solitary learning style that involves personal learning that does not involve the help of other people. I am very shy to talk in front of other people, therefore, I do not feel comfortable in another style like social which has to involve many people as well as group discussions that will have to contribute. Even though group discussions are good study habits, I do not participate so much when it comes to group study. I do not speak so much in class, and I like keeping everything to myself and failing to participate in the group discussion, or class participation like answering questions, and demonstrations among others.

Being a Non-American, I am afraid of raising my hand in front of other learners even when I know the answer because I feel they might laugh or mock me. Since I do not dare to face everyone, I do not contribute so much in class. Even though I do not interact so much with people, I relate with very social friends. Physically, I enjoy playing with other people. Even though I do not talk too much, I use a lot of vocabulary to write (Erickson, p 12).

My current study habit is that reading on my own in a quiet place, by so doing, I realize that I utilize my time well when I am seriously studying alone than when being with others. I sometimes prefer locking myself alone in the room to avoid external distractions.

In my current study, I find it not working well with my learning style since; I realize that I need to combine a number of my learning style to achieve my objectives. I would prefer to adopt group discussions in my study habits, even though, study groups are not my preference, they are also exciting and funny, and break the monotony of reading alone. I can as well change my study habit by learning to adapt to group discussions whose members are serious and determined to study. In this way, I can focus my mind as well, whereby I can combine my study styles (Rimanoczy, 9).

My learning style has many disadvantages and advantages, according to me, I believe that studying on my own helps me to concentrate more than any other style, however, research shows that it is not the best way since one cannot manage everything independently since we all have different intelligence level, which has to categorize us accordingly to the best study habits. In this case, we need to combine this study and learning habits so that we can be able to achieve our goals effectively.

To strengthen that learning style, I believe that I need to change my attitude towards my feeling of being shy in front of other students, and know that I am equally important and I am capable just like them. I also feel I should change my social skills so that I can as well get used to these other students and feel open and free. I should also learn to ask teachers questions in class as well as follow them up with an extra assignment for that I can boast my learning, and get used to the teachers so that I do not fear them while in class (Thaine, p, 23).

Conclusion
Since we have looked at the learning styles, I realize that there are different ways of acquiring learning through different learning styles oral, visual, auditory, motor, solitary and social. Everybody has the most preferred style of learning, for instance, one can prefer visual learning through the use of pictures and images, then there is oral, which is by the use of sounds or music; for instance, when studying I sometimes form a musical formula that I can memorize in the form of a song so that I can remember. Solitary is my best way of learning, where I carry out a study on my own. Some prefer studying through social or group discussions among other styles. However, one has to combine some more learning styles to achieve the best objectives. Read More
