This research explores the effect of competences of emotional intelligence including empathy, awareness, emotional response, and emotional control on effective delegation of tasks and authorities in the banking industry of Malaysia. This research found a relative link between competitiveness and productivity in the workplace and emotional intelligence. There is on-going debate and research work regarding the extent to which emotional intelligence sets the stage for effective leadership.
