Purpose of the Report

In the last few months or so the right to keep a gun has confronted major debate at the national level. The government, law enforcement agencies, civil society, human rights associations, and the general public all have forwarded their arguments on the issue, and now is the time to reach some conclusion. The report will target conclusions on the issue through a depth analysis of all the arguments that surfaced during the Gun Control debate at the national level.
The report will strive to formulate a national thought and to avoid various controversial arguments that surfaced recently on the issue. This controversial argument can distract the focus of the authorities from the core issue and may cause damage to national harmony. One such argument reads, “The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks” (Joe, 2012). There is a need to review all such assumptions as military veterans are a common phenomenon all over the world. The report will discuss and highlight the various aspect of the issue comprehensively without targeting one or the other segment of society.
